Super, super informational. I didn't even think about giving them away to friends, you're right about that! Fortunately I have Amiibos of my set villagers (Except for Sherb) so I'll be thinking about your method when it comes to it. Thanks!

I'm so glad I could help(ish)! I know it's very idealistic but I hope my cycling method help people feel less sad about being unable to get villagers fairly. My friend who wanted Apple for weeks was near giving up but I stepped in and helped her get Apple in exchange for Wood and Stone stacks. While it is free, the DIY requests can be unforgiving (like...gold items and...shell fountain...still got me mild trauma LOL) helping me shoulder some materials will hasten the process so she got Apple faster than intended! Of course, I'd love to make it completely free but my wood stacks are so limited compared to hardwood and softwood. I definitely need lots of help with that...
