Villager won't remove Sea Bass from house...a little help?

I've had Aurora in my town for about a year and she has had a Sea Bass in her house ever since I can remember. It has always bugged me and I've always wanted her to get rid of it, but I've never been able to get her to remove it. She won't let me buy it when she invites me to her house. Also, she asks me fairly often to find a new piece of furniture to replace something, but it's always something other than the Sea Bass. I haven't tried to mail her some furniture that is the same size because I'm afraid she will replace something else and mess up her house even more. Is that a risk I'm going to have to take?

I'd say either deny her requests to replace everything but the sea bass, or try mailing her presents until she replaces it. It's not a risk you absolutely have to take, but it might be faster than denying all her other requests.

You can't really deny a request like that, since they don't give you an option to say 'Yes, I will find an item for you' or 'No, I cannot'. I just ignore those requests anyway because I don't want her to replace the other furniture.

I think the best way to do it is sending them something that takes up the same space as the sea bass tank, they usually replace it if it's the same size (at least in my experience)

Haha, this is getting out of control now. Jokes aside though, it looks like my only option is just to mail her something and hope she replaces the Sea Bass with it. I mean, I've had her for about a year and she has never asked me to find something to replace it, so I don't think she ever will. She has three other items the same size as the fish she could choose to replace instead though, so I am very hesitant.

Maybe you could get the items that are the same size from her when you visit her house, mail an item to her, and return them?
It may take awhile, since you can only take an item at a time.

You can try this. When the villager request new furniture, try to select the new furniture with similar size and category that you want to replace. Then reset your save until that villager is inside her house to give her the new furniture. There are 2 cases, she might replace her old stuff with new funiture right away or she will save it for later. If she display it right away, you can go ahead and give it to her. She will randomly replace her furniture that is same size as the one you give her. You can save the game if you are happy with it otherwise you can reset and start all over again. I did the same thing with Chief, his house used too have a butterfly and one more bug that I don't remember its name. Since they could be place on the table, I used the trick to replace them with a flower pot and a toaster. It is time consuming but I am in control of the furniture placement. It is much easier if the villager specificity ask to replace it but it is so rare.

That seems like it's worth a try, thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully next time she wants new furniture she won't give me a specific thing she wants replaced.

Is the sea bass placed upon a table?

I had the same problem with Nan.She had a cicada in her house when I adopted her and she would never let me buy it and she never would replace it with any other furniture I would give her.I think she had that bug for more than a year then one day she asked for something "to replace my cicada".That was a good day.I gave her the ship's model(and now she's had that for over a year.)
