Villager visit flops? n.n

So, one of my villagers wanted to come over to look at my decorations. I set a time of 10pm. Almost immediately afterwards, another villager wanted me to come over so I set a time for 11pm.

I've been running in and outside my house for a few minutes. Walked all over town looking for her and nothing?! A no-show, really? Can't find her anywhere. Not outside. Not in any other NPC house. All the other shops are closed, not in main street etc.
The second NPC then said he needed to cancel. Is this normal?

I've had villagers forget to come to my house just like I forget to go to theirs.

Well, it's never happened to me personally. But, sometimes I cannot find my villagers as well. They may be in your museum though.
If not, no worries. AC towns (kinda) reset and/or start a new day at 6AM, so your villager will pop up even if this happened.

it happens to me but i also forget appointments i set with them. maybe it's payback? lol

I could have been catching beetles, so I guess I'm a bit upset that they forgot ^_^; Cute quirk though.

yeah, i got mad the first time because i specifically turned on the game to let them visit me and then they didn't.

One of my villagers, Apollo, said he would visit me at 3pm. So I followed him around (lol) and apparently by 3pm, he was just standing outside of Retail. So I talked to him and he yelled at ME for missing our appointment. ( = n=)

this has happened to me before! wendy asked me to come over at so and so time and then i showed up and she wasn't even home.. when i ran into her a few minutes later and talked to her, the "what was that?" option wasn't there and she didn't say "i waited for you and you didn't show!" or whatever. i didn't time travel or anything either. really weird. it's like she forgot about me altogether :'<

Sometimes you have to stand around in your house for like 5 minutes before they show, they won't apologize for being late either

I noticed that lazy villagers will usually be late by a few minutes. I've had 3 lazy villagers and they were always late for these appointments. They usually apologise and explain they were held back because they wanted to grab a snack...

It's maddening, but also cute!

I've gotten lucky a couple of times when I missed the appointment and they said, "Sorry I didn't show." But, I was supposed to go over to Bree the snooty mouse's house and I missed it, and she raked me over the coals. She gave me the angry face and said, "I am genuinely interested in knowing what could have been more compelling than ME!" /laugh

you need to wait inside your huose for a few mintues, they will come.

Like others have said, sometimes they forget. I've had it happen twice, and heard about it a lot. I'm not sure why she just disappeared, but maybe when she forgot she was in the museum or something so she's in there.
