Hi guys, I just made an account here, so I'm sorry if this isn't where I'm supposed to post something like this, but I really wasn't sure where else to look.

I loaded up my game a couple hours ago and I noticed one of my lazy villagers (Deli) was still awake past the time lazy villagers are coded to go to sleep, while my other lazy villager (Zucker) is asleep. I figured it just glitched out a bit and thought nothing of it initially, but after saving and turning off my game and returning to it a few minutes later, I'm starting to get concerned that he's majorly bugged out.

He isn't just stuck awake, either. He's stuck standing in one spot. I can talk to him with no problem, but other than that he's just stood still and facing forward. I can push him around to make him move with no resistance but he doesn't react to it at all.

This is the first time I've come across an issue like this, and a quick Google search doesn't come up with anything either.

I've tried saving and turning off my game a few times, but each time he's still stood like that. The only difference is that he's standing in a different spot each time. I've also tried going to Harv's Island and coming back to my island but it made no difference.

Has anyone else experienced this issue at all? And will it eventually fix itself? Deli is one of my favourite villagers and I don't want him to just be bugged like that forever.

Edit:

To give y'all a better idea of what I'm talking about, I just saved my game and was immediately greeted with the sight of him now standing in another spot, still completely unmoving (+changed the post title to be more appropriate since I've learned that villagers can deviate from their sleep schedules):

Though it looks like I'll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow (even though it's 4am right now so oof). Fingers crossed!

Don't worry, it's not a bug.

He just couldn't sleep, it's a thing that can happen on this game.
I had villagers staying up past their bedtime. They either couldn't sleep or they drank too much coffee.

I'd wait until tomorrow morning to see if it works itself out.
Yeah, I was thinking I would try that next if all else failed.

Oh! Really? I didn't know that. Though, are they supposed to constantly be stood still in one spot (and creepily facing forward ^^; ) when that happens? Just asking so I definitely know what's going on here.

This, and I've also had villagers get up earlier than they are programmed to. It's a refreshing reflection of reality!

This happened when I closed off one of my villagers house. They just stared into the distance questioning their life. Sorry boomer D:

Are his eyes blinking rapidly while he stands there? You may have the singing bug. If you have any radios outside ( the kind that play music and news and you can’t control what plays), get rid of them. Put a single stereo (the kind that you can add music to) anywhere outside and it should fix it. If it’s the singing bug. And if it fixes it, just leave that stereo there until Nintendo patches this bug.

Villagers have a deviance to their sleep schedule occasionally, sometimes they'll be up late because they cannot sleep and sometimes they'll be up early because the felt like waking up early. I've ran into Bam at 5AM and he mentioned wanting to get in an early morning work-out or something.

His eyes are blinking at the same pace as my character's, but I did as you instructed just in case but it doesn't seem to have worked, so I guess that wasn't it. D:

Are you able to talk to them? Do they say anything specific?
I can talk to him with no problem, but he doesn't mention anything about being up late. He just talks to me as if it's the middle of the day.

Though, at one point, he did run over to me calling my name to give me a gift. But right after the conversation ended, he went right back to just standing there.

Hmm.. well, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Might just be a small hiccup in the AI.

Ah, alright. I appreciate the help either way. :)👍

Honestly, you only need to worry if you CAN'T interact with them. That's when you got an issue, lol. The fact that Zucker seems to act fine in most cases, aside from really liking his special spot.
