Villager Requests and Games

Does anyone here know how to trigger villager interactions such as requests and games? They're really hard to come by in this installment and I miss them a lot, so I'd like to try to find a way to increase the amount that it happens on my island.

increased friendship levels! visit them, talk to them, give them gifts that they like (wrapped, ideally)!

i've gotten more requests after giving out wrapped presents LOL like delivering packages, finding a certain kind of bug or fish, or hide and seek. they're definitely harder to come by though.
