i adopted zucker on the 20th and been checking everyday to plot reset and it's been like 5 days is this normal?? usually when i adopt they come the day right after? what even someone help

If it was a campsite adoption, then it can take a few days, but if you adopted from someone else's town, then something didn't go right and I don't think he'll ever show up.

Have you loaded your mayor for 5 days straight? Or are you moving your ds clock forward each day without saving?

There are some occasions where it does take longer. I invited a villager two days before winter soltice once and that villager took five days to show up. I had to load a new save file, check for a plot, save, load my mayor, etc. for five days because I didn't want to risk not being able to plot reset. Ugh. <--This villager was from a different town btw.

Sometimes you have to load your mayor a day or two for them to show. It's not common but it happens. The problem with that is even if you've loaded a new file 5 times one day and there's no plot it's still not safe to load your mayor that day without having saved a new file on a day with no plot. You still risk it deciding to give you a plot.

Have you gotten a letter from him saying he can't move in/ are you sure he agreed to move? If he did, I have no idea. I've always had villagers from other towns move in the next day.
edit: I would write your 3DS clock date down, set it 3 days forward, and log in with a new character (if you want to plot reset). If he's still not there, something most likely went wrong.

no everything went perfectly during the trade :0

it's 5 consecutive real time days straight which was kind of annoying since I didn't want to load my mayor and risk messing something up; i'll load my mayor today and hopefully tomorrow he'll show up

And you're certain you didn't 10 villagers in your town? Or even 9 villager and a plot you may not have seen?

That sounds stressful!! I hope he shows up soon
thanks !

yeah i had adopted him right after one of my villagers moved out so im sure i have sufficient space :/

rn i only have 8 villagers if that helps w anything :0

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good does it. I've only had one villager glitch. I noticed they were still in their house after someone picked them up, I even confirmed the dialogue was normal. I hope Zucker is just a slacker. =( It does seem like there is hope since you are at 8 and it hasn't given you a random.

The only time I've had villagers not show up in town on my end was when there wasn't a space they could move into per the acre rule. But in that case they send a letter.

Is your street pass option on? Sometimes if it's off the villager won't move in until it's turned on. And maybe plot resetting too much eventually caused Zucker to not move in? I hope he did somehow D:

I adopted a villager from someone and they took a week to show up which is rare i guess but it happened. I wouldn't worry too much until its been 7 days and no plot.

That is extremely odd. Did the person you got him from check his door after you visited by any chance? As that will have said if he moved out.
And he definitely agreed to move? I really never had a villager take longer than the next day to plot when they're coming from another town. It's only the campsite that takes several days.
Could you get in touch with the person you adopted him from and see if they will be kind enough to help you out? Since you didn't actually get what you paid for (not that that's their fault but I know I would refund after checking it out). Sorry this has happened :(

Never adopted a villager from another town, but reading the posts here I would take special note of 3Dewdrops post and Mellyjan3 - ie give Zucker at least 7 days to appear.

A qn really for 3Dewdrops - when I have reset (campsite, or I'm starting a town & want to plot villagers 6 thru 9) I have had blank days when I could have a plot but haven't, get fed up of plot resetting, so take the blank by saving the new save file and then load the mayor to play the game as normal.

Sounds as OP isn't doing this but just moving on through the days, without loading the Mayor?
Would how I plot (ie accept the blank/no plot & save the alt on the blank) & then load Mayor to play, work for getting in Zucker?

Its how I would have done it (without thinking about it) if I had invited a villager from another town.

OP is loading his mayor. And yes, to be positive you will have the chance to plot reset after inviting a villager you need to save blanks before loading your mayor. As for villagers 6-8 in a new town they come at specific intervals. (I think you get a new plot on the 1st day your last villager has unboxed but my mind is drawing a blank.) I'm not positive about villager 9 though. It's at least a longer interval but I don't know if it's set or affected by events. (And I'm not positive it's never the same interval.)
