villager phrase change

can villagers change their phrase without asking you? Because i have Peewee and Merengue in my town. I just spoke to peewee and he used the phrase "shortcake" which is merengue's phrase.

They can, yes. Unfortunately sometimes a catchphrase can spread around the entire town before you even notice it - all of my villagers now say "bucko". Except Filbert - and it's his default catchphrase. -.-

Yeah they can use other villagers phrases, also if a villager gives you a nickname they will all start to call you the same thing

Yup, if villagers talk to each other sometimes they will change their catchphrases. Daisy is currently saying "roar" (a catchphrase I gave Mott) and Shari is currently saying "woof" (a catchphrase for Daisy). It's funny, actually, but it kind of makes them sound dumb. XD I'm hoping they will change their catchphrases to something that sounds more intelligent!

Yeah, although none of my villagers have done it yet. Mine just keep copying each others' clothes. STOP IT PECAN! KID CAT'S CLOTHES ARE NOT FOR YOU! ?_?
