I?ve been trying to get Lily out of my friends' town so I can move her into my town. I'm currently using the 2 days forward and 2 days backwards method. It's been about 20 hours now and still no ping... Is there a reason why she?s not moving? Gonna take a break and finish some work before I keep going at it... I'd appreciate some tips to get her to quickly move out. ;___;

2 days forward and 2 days back will cost you a dreamie. Do not use it. Dreamysnowx compiled a TTing guide with safer, non-outdated methods.
Anyway, aside from that, it's completely dependant on RNG and friendship level. If you're BFFs with others in your town, they'll ping more. If you're clean slate with everyone, it's purely RNG. I try talking to the person I want to move more and do a couple favors for them. It unfortunately took my friend 8+ hours to get Merengue out, and he was clean slate with everyone, so at that point it's really just RNG that will hold it above your head. Just keep trying, and don't use 2 days forward and 2 days back. ^^;

If you are near the date of an event (such as Fishing/Bug Tourney, April Fool's etc) I don't think they will ping.
I tried to get Rosie out but then I realised I was TT'ing back and forth towards Festivale.
And yeah, mentioned above, friendship levels count.
Or you could try the 'introduce yourself then ignore for a week' method with a new character.
