Can someone else, apart from the player, get a villager that is visiting in one's town?

It is not possible for a camping villager to move into any town besides the one that they are physically camping in. A visiting mayor cannot invite your camper to his/her town.

This has been rigorously tested over the two years since this game's release.

It's a real shame, especially if your camper is a dreamie of your close friend, but this is a restriction that Nintendo implemented on the camper system.

I'm sorry, but the answer is no.

EDIT: Others may claim differently, but there is no concrete evidence. The game is two years old - if others could invite campers, we would have LOTS of proof by now, and it would be commonly known.

I guess we will have to live with it. :(

I saw it once on tumblr, I can't always trust tumblr though. It didn't have any screenshots so I'm not sure if it works 100%.

Honestly, we shouldn't just not try it. We should still try it to prove that it could work! Who knows, maybe it's like finding a shiny pokemon in the wild in a completely random encounter!

I suppose that's fair enough. I just gave the most commonly accepted answer to this issue to prevent anyone from getting the wrong impression of the camper process, or getting their hopes up and being painfully disappointed.

It's always worth a try, but I discourage people from having TOO much faith in something this unlikely/unproven.

Yeah, that's very true. I guess saying "YES YOU CAN DO IT TRY IT!!@!!!!!" is a bad idea because I'm getting peoples hopes up.

I do agree that it is very unlikely for this to work but I still believe that it could work! I just need some proof...
