Villager House Placement Question

I was wondering if acres had anything to do with house placement in this game *o* Like can you only have a certain number of villager houses in an acre? I want to line up my villagers in a 2 by 3 relationship but now I'm not sure if that's possible xC

Acres aren't even in this game so it shouldn't matter. What should matter is that each house has one space around the entire house and that there is 2 spaces in front for the door to open. If there is a cliff edge or pwp that is within the 1 space around the house, it won't be able to be built or placed due to obstructing it.

I have all of my villagers in a straight line so I don't think it matters

Oh okay thank you :3 I just didn't want to be house resetting for hours and then realize there would be no way I could get them to move in that spot x.x

Weirdly enough, that town layout looks like my map but reversed *_* I was planning to do what he/she have done with the six villagers on the right haha. The rest are free form though for me lol
