I've just spent the better part of a couple hours fulfilling a request for a villager that was utterly pointless.

Now, I don't mean it was pointless in the sense that I got a crappy reward or no reward at all for my trouble. What I do mean is that the request itself was utterly pointless in the end, as you shall see.

So, here I was, enjoying another day in Ryland when my least favorite villager of all trudges up to greet me: enter Quillson, the village outcast. He immediately asks me to go catch a fish for him.

"Ok, no problem, let me just get my rod a -- wait, you want me to catch you a what, Quillson? An arowana? *sigh* Alright then you picky git..."

After about two hours and more black bass than I care to count, I finally catch the bloody thing. I look around a bit outside for Quillson to no avail, so I check his house. Conveniently, he happens to be home, so I head in to give him the arowana. As I head in, I see that he has a particular fish on display.

Take a wild guess what that fish was. Go on, I dare you. Yeah, it was a sodding arowana!

Spoiler: My Reaction

Quillson sent me on a wild goose chase for a fish he already had, just for the lulz. As if I really needed another reason to dislike the guy. Has anyone else had a villager do something this irritating to them before?

Saw it in Re-Tail the next day =_____=

Gave Celia a Natty shirt for her birthday. Got a really happy letter in return. Was hoping she'd wear it.
Day after her birthday, she tells me she's tired of it, asks me to replace it, and then gives me the natty shirt as a reward =___=

Kitty asked me for a peach. Said she saw a tree but didn't have time to shake them down.
There were peaches on the ground right next to her =___=

Got asked by Kid Cat to give something to Phoebe.
Phoebe was right there.
Phoebe didn't try on whatever ugly shirt he got her.
Kid Cat then proceeds to talk smack while Phoebe's right in earshot

Lobo asks me if I want a Raven Pole. I say no.
Lobo pings again an hour later, saying I've won the opportunity to buy his Raven Pole. I say no again.
Lobo then offers the Raven Pole for free. I say no.
Lobo pings again next hour. Shoves the Raven Pole into my arms and leaves.
I put the Raven Pole up for sale in Re-Tail
Upon my next visit to Re-Tail, before the store even loads, I heard the feckin "PING" and I already knew...
He bought the god danged Raven Pole =_________________________=

I can't even make this **** up anymore.

Like this is why I couldn't love Wolfgang. Wolfgang was annoying in an annoying way. Lobo is annoying in a -sigh- -facepalm- way that makes me adore him.

I sent Mitzi a citrus shirt for her to change into, when Grizzly had her change into some ugly thing. Did she change into it? Nope, put it in Retail.

Half the time I send furniture to my villagers or give them something when they request it, it ends up in Retail as well. >.>

-Travel about 2 weeks later
-Villager asks me to dig up time capsule
-I go dig it up and bring it to them
-They open it, take out the present, and read the letter
-After they read the letter, they put the item in their pocket, and reward me WITH THE SAME ITEM

She asks me to dig up her time capsule and inside is a letter explaining that her past self doesn't feel like doing laundry and proclaims it to be her future self's problem now. Phoebe comments on how embarrassed she was for the immaturity of her past self and rewards me with the shirt.

Tia wants a watch bug.
So, I'm just casually talking to Tia, and she says she wants a horned beetle or something as a "watch bug" or something. I say yes and get her one (as much as I hate villagers having bugs in their houses.)
Couple days later, I'm back at Tia's house again and she gives me the exact same request.
She wants a horned beetle as a "watch bug."
I facepalm because I ALREADY GAVE HER ONE AND IT'S RIGHT NEXT TO HER.
So, of course the second time I say no.

A friend of mine once had tabby, and I guess she moved to another friend of mine's town and she didn't want her. I went to her town often to hang out and stuff and once she said she was moving, my friend was happy. Next thing I knew, I got a new villager and it was Tabby. I screamed with pain (internally). Tabby was one of those villagers I never wanted, and would never move. Everyone I wanted to keep kept asking, but Tabby would not. When she announced that she was moving, I made the decision to give her to someone so that she may never haunt us again. She was terrifying!!

I believe they always reward you with the item in the capsule.

Kid cat asked me to bury a time capsule. When I dug it up for him there was a shirt inside. He then commented on how gross, dirty and sweaty the shirt was, and proceeded to reward me with the shirt he'd just called gross, dirty and sweaty. Gee. Thanks kid cat =_=

A friend saw a villager with fleas. Caught the flea and went on her way.
Half an hour later...
*ping* (same villager) OMG YOU HAVE A FLEA CAN I HAVE IT?

Same thing happens three times in a row.
Three times.
In a row.

Zucker was my dreamie in my old town. Forgot to plot reset. I had one half of my town for bunnies and the other half for the other villagers, not only does he move in on the bunny half, he also moves half on my path, and half on a small bed of black and gold roses. You can guess what happened... I haven't had Zucker, nor a black or gold rose since .-.

Gaston used to be one of my dreamies.
I was so excited when I finally acquired him, moved him into a nice spot, and was happy talking to him a few times.

Then I visit his house. It's the scariest villager house I've ever been in to date, I swear this guy is a serial killer.
That music, that decor... IT'S 100% MURDER PLOT STUFF.
On top of that, I vaguely remember him telling me to call him uncle, and sometimes talking about his niece. I just got a weird awful pedophile vibe from him (even though I'm totally fine with other cranky villagers!)
I got so scared and I moved him out as soon as I could.

More of a villager trading nightmare, but I still like to tell it. My friend.... Bob really wanted Fauna, and she happened to be one of my original villagers. Naturally, when it came time for her to move, I invited Bob to my town and let him talk to Fauna. She moved out of Ralfland, moved into his town of Finner, everyone was happy.

Two days later, Cobb moved in from his old town of Finner.

A week later, Bob deleted his town because he didn't like where a rock was.

I lost Fauna for nothing.
