do you ever do mean things to your villagers?
I love it when people really get mad about animal crossing. here is a funny story I saved:

'See, all my town is filled with awesome people. Everyone who started the town is cool, and a bunch of the people who moved in were awesome. I was p. pleased, until one day, Quillson moved in.

Quillson is a dumb duck that sucks and doesn't even know what he wants. I mean, look at him. What theme is he going for in his house? He doesn't know. He just sits there being dumb.

Before I really even had any of this Public Projects stuff down, Quillson moved in. Right up at the top of this epic cliff, which sits at the corner of where the land meets the beach on two sides, and the beach then meets the ocean. It's a grand old spot. The day Quillson starts unpacking? Rosie comes up to tell me, "Hey, want to build me a lighthouse?" Yeah I want to build you a lighthouse, Rosie. You're sweet, and all your ideas are awesome. Oh, and thank you for giving me medicine after I got stung. Let me see, where could I build a lighthouse? Oh, yeah, right over where Quillson is farting up everything.

I want you to know that I love all my residents. They are my townspeople, and I have a duty, as mayor, to care for their individual needs, and see through Skaia's flower-coated vision towards perfection and beauty. But I hate Quillson. As far as I'm concerned, Quillson doesn't belong here. He isn't 'one of us'. He was a mistake, who got by when the Police Station was non-existent (as it currently remains). So, yeah, I shove him in a pitfall er'ry day. Yeah, he has his house coated in garbage- and yes, I send him more garbage in the mail. Yes, his trees are stumps. Yes, I turned his catchphrase into 'I'm pretty', and hit him in the head with my net over and over, and shove him around. When he's out catching bugs or fish? I'm running back and forth, chasing them off.

Somehow my residents didn't get the message. Apparently he and Diana are chill. Somehow, he keeps getting presents from Gladys. I mean, all my other residents already have a shirt like that one, Gladys, but Quillson is infinitely appreciative, EVERY TIME. Of course, Gladys will never know. I can 'never remember' how he responded.

Quillson, always in the shop, trying to buy my overpriced Odd Clock. No, Quillson! That's for people I like. What Quillson? You want to call me Pop Star too? No, that's for friends only. And you are not my friend. I have had Isabelle take away every nice letter, every nice piece of clothing, and every catch phrase he's ever had. But does Quillson want to move?

No. Because Quillson knows how much he makes me hate him. He stays just for me to hate him. He does this, smiling, reminding me how close he feels we are. Every day. Sitting on the cliff, watching the waves and smirking to himself.

I hate Quillson.'

that is exactly how I felt about Cally... ughhhhhh first I thought she was cute, with her ladybug shirt on... then i wanted to build a convenient bridge near my house, but whose house was in the way? Cally

She selfishly sat in her house blocking access from the other side for like a month before I got her to go away!

It's weird to me when people feel really strong either way or when people are so obsessed with getting a perfect town that any villager outside of their 10 dreamies gets a new thread in the forum to complain (I'm not talking about you since your thread is a general one).

I've disliked villagers too, though. When I started, I got a villager whose design and dialogue were annoying. I built traps for him, pushed him around, hit him with a net, all those things. I ended up liking him a lot more as his dialogue changed and he spent a really long time in my town.

I also had villagers move on bad spots. One of them was right where I wanted to build a bridge, so of course Isabelle said no when I asked if I could build there. The other one built his house where I wanted mine to be (but Tom Nook said no). I didn't know about plot resetting or how Tom Nook's dialogue can change slightly depending on your positioning, so I thought it was really unfair. I still have both. One of them is one of the villagers I like best. The other one is generally awesome and gives me great gifts, so I can live without that bridge.

I have one like that at the moment. I forgot his name actually. He?s an ugly bird. Blegh. He. Needs. To. Move. Ignoring him big time.

That essay about Quillson made me laugh. :p

In any case, I didn't particularly like Moe myself... he and his house were rather creepy... but I was still nice to him. I still bought his overpriced stuff and sold him my underpriced goods. He didn't really do anything I didn't like, it was just him being creepy. |D

Also villagers I didn't think I'd like I ended up liking, like Ankha. I thought her being snooty would hinder my fondness, but she comes up with some fantastically self deprecating stuff. And Bob, whom I invited on a whim from the campsite because he was just a silly purple cat with a flowery shirt. He's really grown on me. Aaaand Boone. I don't know why, but I like him, though ultimately I'd like another jock villager (Snake!) in the long run.

There's also villagers that I liked in the beginning but cooled off; I thought I'd like Hamphrey more than I do, but he's actually rather mean? I dunno, maybe it's the cranky personality.

Nan the goat is a perfectly fine specimen of a normal villager. She's sweet, thoughtful, even-tempered and friendly. But she did a highly irregular and, dare I say it, abnormal thing by moving directly in front the south entrance of the bridge with just one square space to spare.

Her best friend, Eunice the sheep, lives on the other side of the river. In fact, Eunice's house is erected 2 square spaces directly in front of the north entrance of that same bridge. It's obvious they plotted this together while at one of their meetings for so-called normal villagers.

So I send mean letters to them threatening, cajoling and even begging them to consider leaving. Any pitfall seeds I acquire from the Police Station ends up buried near their homes. I run errands for them, trade furniture and clothes with them, pay way too much for their crap and sell them my high-quality stuff at bargain basement prices.

Now I dislike being mean to my residents because I'm usually not that kind of Mayor; but having to build a friendship with them both so they'd move out carries its own unique brand of suffering.

I try to be on good terms with all my villagers. I accepted Rudy's terrible plotting, since he's a favourite. I patiently waited Clay and Ricky to move out after destroying my carnation garden and landscaping in front of Re-Tails, did some small talk and all. It was my fault their terrible plot placements, since now we all know how to avoid these things.

I had tons of temporary villagers, and I don't really mind their awful placements, they will leave eventually. What I hate is when villagers I love moved in terrible spots and I don't have the heart to cycle them out. (Deirdre, Rudy, O'Hare are all in not so good spots, but I'll manage)

this is probably the first time I really feel sorry for a villager :(
I call animal abuse XD

Oh Molly. Any space would've been lovely.. Except being so close to the bridge on such a slant that it is nearly impossible to cross that bridge at all. I didn't want to do this but... You're gonna have to go

one time O'Hare moved directly in front of town hall :'(

LOL I forgot about this but I can't stand Broccolo. I sent him letters like "VILLAGE NEWS: THE CITY COUNCIL HAS LEARNED THAT SUNNY HAS AN INFESTATION OF MICE. WE DO NOT TOLERATE VERMIN OF ANY KND. PEST CONTROL IS COMING IN AT 12PM TOMORROW"
lol

OH MY GOD you guys are horrible.
if i have a villager that i absolutely didnt like, i would just. not talk to them. yes, when they unpack and a few times for events like harvest festival but THATS IT. i couldnt hit them with nets/push them into pitfalls if i wanted to.

^Hahaha. Yeah, computertrash, I feel the same way. I would feel so guilty about abusing the poor little pixels. I might, you know, hurt their feelings. I went through a horrible phase in Wild World where Monique, Bill, and Alli all moved next to each other by the beach and wouldn't leave for months. I was so relieved when they finally surrendered and moved out. (Worst of all, I still followed my "be nice to every villager and do what they ask" code, even though being nice to Monique was kind of like eating dirt and smiling about it.)

Back in City Folk sometimes I'd get bored and start whacking random villagers with my net. I don't do that in NL though, I know better than from when I was like 10.

I see so many people complaining about diva, but the best one was something like

OMG, this purple ***** ruined my PATH! SHE IS SUCH A BUTT, LIKE.

And stuff like that v~v

>:0000000
monique is one of the best cats ok

the worse i'd do to a villager is not complete their requests or not sell them stuff. thats about it.

I think crankies become much friendlier the more you talk to them, so don't give up on Hamphrey just yet! :)

Are you planning on getting rid of Nan eventually? If she ever pings you to move and you don't mind adopting her out, I'd love to take her if I have room in my town. I really love Nan and she's so hard to find, especially since I can't search for her name in the Villager Trading Plaza :(

I get strange satisfaction out of hitting Barold and Marcie with my net and pushing them into pitfalls. They are both really nice villagers too so I don't know why :(

I used to do awful things to Mathilda back in my old town.

I regret all of that, she's nice and all, it's just my taste in Snooty villagers back then where very very harsh.

I try to not do bad things to my villagers. Even the ones I really don't like. I just hope they move.

This is why I created an alt specifically to be mean to characters I don't like. I realize that it's still me, but somehow it feels different coming from BigBad than from my mayor. Still, it's something I rarely do.

I remember Truffles. I probably would have liked her under different circumstances but she happened to plop her house down right in the middle of my path that I had spent hours perfecting the day before. I was SO angry. I believe I mailed her a letter that told her to get out. I sent her junk, I tried to be mean to her face but she was too cute. When she finally moved out and I fixed everything (which included moving a bridge back and forth) Joey moved into the same spot. He was so cute I simply resigned myself to never having the pathway of my dreams.

My brother actually likes to have a character in town who he can pick on whenever he wants. He likes to push them in pit falls and hit them with his net but then he'll be nice to them afterwards to "make it up to them."
