Villager gifting preferences?

Anyone discover anything helpful with gifting preferences?

I've looked everywhere but I can't seem to find a guide on gifting preferences for villagers! I know there's hearsay, like how normal villagers like flowers and that lazy villagers like fruit. I also read somewhere that you get higher friendship points if you wrap the gifts, but don't quote me on any of this! (Also, I apologize if there is already an existing topic for this, I wasn't able to find anything when I used the search...)

I've only been able to find preferences for villagers who have been around since New Leaf using Nookipedia. While not all of the items are the same in NL and NH, the items that overlap in the "ideal gifts" section seem to work effectively for me. Not 100% sure if this will work every time though, and I have no idea about the new villagers.
