I'm mainly letting Tex go because I want to have an open spot ready for a decent camper. That and he kind of creeps me out

Would someone please explain how these trades work? How is there a guarantee that the resident will definitely move into the persons town who wants them? Advice please

The person who wants them will come to your town on the day that the villager is all packed up (the date the villager specifies when they say they're moving). They'll talk to him/her and will have the option of saying "come to my town!" Or something like that and the villager will be unpacking in their town in two days. My advice is that if a villager you want to trade has decided to move and given you a date, and you tell them farewell, do NOT talk to them again! Even if they sight event you! Just run away! Lol. It might change their mind.
