Villagers I'm trying to get rid of:
-Sterling (i just found his plot today so he hasn't moved in yet but his house is in a bad location and i need him gone asap)

not looking for any, just looking to get rid of the two.

I have a question on this, will the villagers remember your character and talk about them after they're deleted?

I'd hate to have the villagers bringing up the character's name like "I wonder where ____ went" or "I remember someone named ____ from a while back."

I'd make sure not to talk to them on the new character, but it feels like there should be some negative side-effect to the reset trick. (I mean, other than the grass dying where you put and then demolish your house.)

Well, I've done this trick multiple times, to decide where a camper and a villager I got from someone would move in, and both times I used a character named butts (heh) and nobody has ever asked me where butts went. Maybe it's because I never talked to them on that character? If they start asking me where butts went, that would be unfortunate.
 
I was waiting on someone to see if he wanted to do a trade, but since I've been waiting long enough, I'll put up my list.

Unfortunate... or hilarious? You should totally talk to everyone with Butts. (Because obviously I have the sense of humor of a 10-year old)

Yes, also if you visit them in the new town they remember you too.
