Villager changing outfits bug?

I made a custom patterned hat and place it in my Able Sisters. I was pleased to see Sherb walking around my island wearing it. Then, he took it off and I thought it was cool to see him change outfits like that. But then, in a matter of about thirty seconds, he proceeded to put the hat back on and take it off about 5 or 6 times. Has anyone else experienced this? Their villagers just walking along, changing outfits with what seems like every step?

sounds interesting, tbh I haven't thought of placing a custom design in Able Sisters before

would you happen to have a video of it? or a picture of the pattern?
