Villager Advice

I thought I'd share my ponderings about the villagers in my town!
I know how much we all love sharing stories & opinions on villagers & I LOVE answering these kind of posts myself. (find it fun to imagine for some reason & organize.)

Anyway, I have been playing the game "naturally" for a couple of months, and recently started to look for certain villagers to balance out the town.

I'm not obsessed with having an all dream town (I originally wished there was an extra space for the tenth villager to be random so I always have someone new.

Colour Code:

Purple: Permanent
Green: Going to move them out
Orange : Thinking of moving them out
Pink: Dreamie I don't have yet
Black : Villager I'm thinking about getting


Ok! So here are my current villagers:

Cranky 2 permanent, 1 to move:

Wart Jr--- Permanent, my old man villager. Really love him.
Lobo----- Keeping for a long time, possibly permanent.

Chief----** definitely moving him out**

Uchi 1 permanent, 1 considering moving on to very good home.

Muffy--- Permanent, there's no Uchi I like more.

Phoebe---considering moving on to very good home. Was my best friend for a long time, now we grew apart.
Very fond of her, quite beautiful.
I just don't really like her anymore.

Lazy -2

Here's where it is hard. The lazies. My least & most favourite at same time. So silly & pull on your heart strings lazy, cutie pies....
Just when they annoy me, I feel sorry for them!

I acquired Marina (nice) today---a dreamie I never thought I'd have. She is a great friend for my lazy Zucker.

However as cute as Zucker is, he never grew on me, and like Phoebe I'd like to move him on.

The other lazy is Ozzie, & he is sweet, but one day I might move him on for another sweet lazy. I'm not sure. He is adorable & I like him better than Zucker now.

I know Zucker is one of 3 octopus & it would be cool to have 2 octopus, but at the end of day I kinda like Ozzie more....but really the lazies were my favourites....now they are starting to annoy me with the constant food letters.

Should I move Ozzie or Zucker out?

Or both?

Marina--- found her after three months today! Thanks moonflow!

Mitzi---found her today from another cycle town, will move her in when one of the above I want moved out is gone.

These two are also ones I'll keep for a while then keep both forever.

That's where I haven't decided yet.

Also I kinda think I want to keep Ozzie, but not sure.

So that means I'll have all 10 spots taken (if I get a snooty) if I keep the lazies in, or even keep 1 lazy.

I want to leave 1 free space for a random villager that isn't really a dreamie as I don't want to end up with a static Town.
I like the idea of getting to know that villager & letting them move on when they want to. That last spot keeps things interesting.

I've made out lists and things like this myself as well. I just recently decided to redo my entire dreamie list. I've always had the same 10 dreamies for years, but I forced myself to choose new ones for some new variety and life in my town and I'm really rather excited about this.

That might help you have an idea of how the town comes together & how the villagers go together.

I actually had Ozzie and Yuka both in my first town. I hated them both, but if you like them they're a pretty cute couple.
I have Phoebe and Lobo in my current town and love them both, but if you really love Muffy then I'd say ditch Phoebe. I feel the Uchi personality is more special when you only have one of them.
I would sell Zucker, personally, and use him to fund another dreamie. I don't get why people like Zucker.

So yeah personally I would:

-Ditch Phoebe and Zucker
-Grab Yuka for Ozzie
-Grab Tangy when you find her

It doesn't leave a 10th slot so if the Lazy personality really is getting kinda grating, I'd let Ozzie move out. I'd still stick with Yuka for a Snooty because she'd be the most unique, since you already have cats and a wolf. Then you can just cycle in new lazies via camp or TBT.

Your town is really unique in terms of most villagers, so I based my opinion on keeping that charm~ Plus since you seem to like the Koalas a lot more than I do, I feel like you'll appreciate Yuka and Ozzie more. Even though I disliked them, they kinda always seemed like a pair in my town. They even lived near each other~

Of course in the end just do what you feel you wanna do~ If you have a special feeling towards someone or keep finding yourself thinking about having a certain villager, definitely go with that~

Actually, come to think of it as much as Zucker & Marina are a cute & unique couple---I just don't like Zucker as much as Ozzie.

So your plan is actually quite solid.

My first move is getting one of the ones to move out. Back to the wetsuit with me!

Ok guys, so until I can ping some villagers out, I'll leave this up here as I'll follow Serifs advice unless I come across certain villagers before others or something changes.

In the meantime I'll run a poll until the moving starts.

Update on town!

Well...I've had two accidental move ins that halted this scheme. (from voids) I've also had a couple of ideas change after getting to know everyone better.

So far I have: Tangy, Phoebe (she gets colds a lot & seems to want to stay---so I won't push her too much, I'll just let her go when she wants)
Lobo has won my heart as a permanent, Wart Jr, Muffy, Keaton, Ozzie, Marina, Colton & Kid Cat.

I definitely want Colton to move, but he's my 10th....

I will most likely let Phoebe go if she asks....but a part of me is still not sure on that one.

After getting to know Marina better (she's a little less friendly than Flurry was)--I like her a lot---but not sure if I just want to keep her for a long time or permanent.
a part of me doesn't want her to move on yet as she hasn't been here long enough, but maybe after some time I'd prefer a different nice type.
She just hasn't quite clicked with my character yet.

Ozzie is still someone I'd like to move on...but don't really have any lazies I like better, so no point right now.

Villagers I would like to move in:

Annalisa the sweet anteater, or maybe just wait & get Flurry back.

Bam! I really would like him to be pals with Kid Cat.

Freya, Yuka or Amelia for the snooty. I'd like to have a snooty at some point.

Freya is my favourite snooty for sure (favourite villager actually so there's some bias there), I'd kick Ozzie but again bias because Zucker is one of my favourites. I have wayyy too many normal characters, I made a similar list but I've got it all figured out, it goes -

I'm glad you're keeping Skye.

I thought of her too, but then I'd have so many wolves.

I don't like Zucker---I moved him out since my OP. We were friends for months, but he was so bland with me. I think every incarnation of a villager varies, but he seemed cool at first, but over time he just lacked personality.
I LOVE that he is an octopus & has a Japanesish sort of house....but still not enough with how flat he was.

So what are your reasons for liking Freya so much? I haven't had her in my town in New Leaf, but I liked her before. What is she like?
