Hello!
So I run a Cycling thread in the VT Plaza and on the 6th Merengue went into boxes.
Someone had reserved her, so I PM'd them letting them know she was ready to pick up.
According to her reply later that day, she had seen my msg and waited a bit to respond, but she told me that she was having trouble getting a villager out so asked if I had any tips. I explained her my method and let her know she had 24 hours to pick her up so she should have some time to get them out.
The 24 hours was up and no word on getting someone out. So I msg'd her letting her know she had about an hour til her time was up, but that I'm going out somewhere so I'll give her those extra few hours. After I was back though, if someone still hasn't left, she'll have to decide to cancel and will receive half her reservation back, or can pay an extra 5tbt to add another day of holding Merengue.
She said she'd pay, but then never did and hasn't been on BTF since 2pm on the 7th. In 2 hours it will be her 2nd day of holding, which means she would have had to pay 10tbt yesterday and once 11:30 passes it'll start her 3rd and final day of me holding an extra day, and is 15tbt owed now.

So my question is this... wait another day and see if she gets on and pays and/or is able to adopt? Or because she never actually paid for her extra days, and is now unresponsive, do I just go ahead and cancel it and find Merengue a new home?
Though I give an option for extra days, I have like 3+ other reservations up for villagers I have, and I'm afraid if I take too long they'll end up canceling as well.

Another question is, should I up the extra day fees? It does give you an extra 24 hours, and there's a max of 3 days you can extend it.

Anyway, I've made this long enough!! Thanks for any help given ~

If she hasn't been on for days and didn't pay you the extra days reservation fee, I think you're clear to give her to someone else? perhaps send her a message explaining your reasons but really she's the one who stopped contact so it's pretty much her fault.

plus, she's stopping the cycle for the rest of the reservers who also want to get their dreamies just for someone who didn't care enough to answer

Yep! I say OP just give Merengue to somebody else. If the buyer gets angry, OP does have good and valid reasons as to why she did it.

Guess you guys are right. I really wanted to just do that, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that thought so ; ^;

Well, to me at least, it's a common and basic courtesy to actually have room when you ask for a villager, reserve or not.
Many people somehow have this strange notion that it's the cycler's responsibility to wait for them, while they do whatever the heck it is that they were doing, and too many times have I seen other cyclers having to 'chase' after some 'potential adopters' almost pleading them to response to pick up villagers.

Yeah, that member might have other things in life besides ACNL, but what about the rest of the ppl who are also waiting in line?
They all have lives too, and it's a jerk move to gone unresponsive, leaving others on hold for your own incompetence.

You have went out of your way to be accommodating to that other member.
3 days are more than enough, not only are they wasting your time, they are putting *everyone else* in a most inconvenient position.
It's most unfair, to say the least.

If I was in a situation like that, I'd swiftly move on.

You make a good point ~

I went ahead and let her know, and I've put Merengue back up for adoption.

But just in case that person gets mad at you and decides to leave you a negative rating, screen cap all of the messages you sent each other and this thread, just gather evidence to show to the mods.

Just let her go to someone else. She shouldn't even be making reservations on villagers if she doesn't have the space, it's entirely her fault that she didn't get her.

I think you were right to allow her extra time, as sometimes circumstances do prevent getting online. However, I'd agree that 3 days is pretty much the cut-off point. 4 days would just be far too much, and it's unfair on you and your other reservations :)
