Venting about moving villagers out

Yupp...
A lot of YouTuber spew incorrect information without doing any research just because they heard it somewhere or it worked for them with one villager and therefore must be correct.
Some have also said that fencing the villager in will make them move out faster - again, not true.
It's kind of like when I started playing NL and people would say that hitting villagers with nets and being mean to them would make them move... lol.
I really wish they wouldn't spread that because my coworkers were even saying that ignoring them gets them to move out, so I assumed I was just playing the game incorrectly :|

I'm guessing you've probably already tried this, but when I wanted Reneigh to move out, I just ignored her and spoke with all of the other villagers, and hit her over the head with a net a few times. She was one of my last to move in, if not the last, and the first to move out.

A couple of things you can try if 1 particular villager is being extra difficult to move out:

If you're on a couple month session where said villager doesn't get the thought bubble, talk to that villager once, and a few other villagers once, then save and TT +15 days and start your search again. Sometimes breaking the habit of not talking to them ever can help.

If you find a random campsite villager during your process, you can always try winning their game once to see if they happen to choose that villager to move out.

Last thing that has helped me, is when you are doing your TT cycling to check for thought bubbles, TT to the morning at 9am or 10am and look for the thought bubble. If it's not on the desired villager, try TT'ing to 6 or 7pm and look again. Often times the thought bubble can move when it's later in the day.

Hope one of these helps you! :)

Read the comments above.
The assumption that this actually makes the villager move out faster is false.

ahh i feel for you. i'm a little annoyed that they decreased the rate at which villagers ask to move because it can make moving ANY villager out super annoying, much less a specific villager. i wish there was a way to more efficiently move them out without amiibo!

It's funny because Zucker is the opposite for me, he WANTS to move out but you're not going anywhere, tako boi.

I'd recommend thinking of 1 or 2 other villagers that you wouldn't mind moving out either, and then working on that. Assuming all factors are equal, you only have a 10% chance of the villager you want to move out actually ask to move out so it may be a loooooong process depending on your luck.

The tenth villager has never asked to move in my experience. It sucks but you may have to move someone else out to kick Zucker out.

I regularly move my villagers out by skipping between the 1st of June and 19th June, there is always a guaranteed thought bubble on both days for someone that wants to move out. It can be tedious if it isn't the villager you want to move but eventually you will get there! If not there are different YouTube videos that have different methods, and from what I have seen the most recent villager that has moved in won't ever request to move until someone else moves out and someone new moves in.

Finally got him to move out! I had to give up one of my other villagers and find them again, but I’ve finally got this ‘Zucker’ out of here! He’s a cool villager, but by god I’m so glad he’s moving 😭

Congrats on making it happen. Ironically, Zucker is one of my mainstay villagers, but I'm happy if you're one step closer to having your dream island now.

My last villager moved out on May 5. I still haven't gotten a thought bubble... Is this supposed to happen? (Right now it's May 23). I just invited a camper yesterday if that affects anything.
