Vanishing Fruit?! D:

I was picking my foreign today, so I could sell them for extra money. Then when I shook the last apple tree, an apple bounced off into the flowers and was lost forever. I picked up all the flowers in the area where the fruit should have been, tilted the camera, and did everything I could think of. But I still can't find that last apple.
Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

theres no space for the fruit to fall so yes they disappeared. There needs to be 3 empty sqaures around the tree

It's helpful if a villager wants a cherry and I don't want extras. I hold one flower, shake the tree, take the single cherry, replace the flower.
