Punchy is trying to leave tomorrow. He refuses to bring up moving at all and just brings up stupid toy day! I have saved and quit + continued multiple times but he won't bring up moving at all and everyone else is telling me he wants to move!

I've decided to make a new character, introduce myself and try the diving trick and see if he will ping her or at least shut up about you day enough to talk to her about moving.
I can't lose Punchy again! >:-(

Villagers do not ping on Toy Day and the villager has already been told he may leave.

If you time travel to before 6pm, he may bring up moving if he keeps talking to you. Otherwise, there is no way to stop Punchy from moving.

Oh, he was already told he could leave! I'm sorry, I thought that just the villagers had told you and he hadn't pinged you yet.
He should mention it eventually, I've had this same thing happen before where I accidentally told one of my villagers they could move. It took a LOT of talking to them over and over but eventually they mentioned it and I stopped them.

Characters can change their minds about moving and say something like "I'm not sure if I should go through with the move, should I stay or should I go?" and you can convince them to stay through that dialogue, however I have never had that dialogue with characters so I am not sure if it is achieved through pinging or by talking to them.

If you go a dozen or so times of pinging without him mentioning the move, I would use an old character like the Mayor or another not-new character to talk to him over and over again instead.

The mayor is the only character in town besides this new one. Wish me luck. I won't make it to Toy Day if he doesn't change his mind. This town will cease to exist if he leaves!

No luck with the new girl. He stopped with the newbie conversations but now just talks about rumors and toy day

Pings happen when the villager initially wants to move. If he's been told no, he'd stay. Since he was told yes, he will ask again each day, but during a normal conversation. He won't ping again. Usually they bring up moving in a conversation or two. This allows you to catch them the next day if you change your mind and say no.

But this depends. Did he ping to move earlier today/did your boyfriend tell him he could leave today? Or was it earlier, yesterday or something? If it's the former, you might be stuck as I have never had a villager bring up the moving conversation twice in a day after being told yes again. :c

He told him days ago which I didn't realize until now when villagers told me he's leaving. When I did a new save file for a day ahead, he was boxed up.

He just told my new character he's moving though. I saved / quit after the initial dive trick fails, then loaded her up again and he pinged me. Thank god ._____.
