So today Fang asked my if he could visit my house 'after 3pm', I usually decine house visits unless they want to visit there and then, because I don't want to miss them by accident, but I can't tell him no, so I agreed to meet him at 5pm, then we got a visitor irl and they didn't leave for hours and I missed my visit from Fang so he told me off, then later, Erik was blocking my way, I couldn't get around him and so I tried to gently push him and of course he got really upset and started crying! Then I got really upset for upsetting my villagers! Lots of us take this game to heart, we care a lot about what happens and what our villagers think of us and my first thought was that I was going to have to move all my villagers into a new town because I'd messed up so badly!! Ridiculous overreaction right? Anyway, I figure I'll just have to send them appology letters, they're probably over it, but I'm not. Anyone else worry too much how their villagers feel?
TL;DR I upset my villagers and now I'm upset, anyone else get like this?

yeah i do.. i always promise someone that i am gonna visit them but at that time i am playing either Monster Hunter or Toontown Rewritten... so yeah

I don't really get like this any more, I used to but not any more. I usually decline house visits too unless they're right there and then, I hate having to arrange a time because I usually always forget and my villagers get mad at me. The reason why I don't really get like that any more, is because I understand they're NPCS although they do mean something to me, I know they won't stay mad at me for too long and will probably calm down once I reload the game. Villagers sure do know how to guilt trip you though :c. I remember in wild world, they used to go full savage if you missed a house visit from them, peppy's literally told you to your face that they hoped your house got torn down LMAO. I don't write apology letters to them or anything like that because I know they'll probably be over it or have forgotten it by the next time I load the game. It's okay though don't be upset, it's practically the villagers job to make you feel guilt because it's a life stimulator, so they usually react how any other person would.

Wow, thank you SailorCrossing, that's a really sensitive reply. I know other people get really attached to their villagers too, but I have this fear of letting people down so I know my first reaction was out of proportion but you're right, I probably needn't even appologise, I'd be better off just writing them a nice positive letter and moving on from it. Haha, I can't believe I'm trying to work out how to best repair my broken relationships with made up cartoon animals -_-"
It's probably lucky I never managed to let my villagers down in ACWW then, I don't think I could have taken their wrath!!
I'm still curious as to whether others get like this.

I'm not sure how you meant this, but I honestly didn't mean to offend you if that's how you took my reply, it's okay I understand villagers mean a great deal to some people and I completely respect that. :) They mean a lot to me too, but it's just how I view the matter. Your reaction was completely fine, I was actually attempting to console you haha. Sorry if I upset you!

I often forget about scheduled visits so I normally decline unless they say "right now" because I don't want to upset my villagers.

Oh no, that wasn't sarcasm SailorCrossing, I honestly wanted to thank you for being sensitive because I had been worried I was going to come across as pretty unreasonable when I started the thread and I thought what you said was really helpful! Oops, sorry!!
No really, it sort of helped me see that I could just let go of it (because my villagers will have) but you managed to sort of suggest it without making me feel silly or belittled. So honestly, thank you.
Edit: oh wow, I just reread my first reply in a sarcastic tone and I can see how that could have come across!! No, it was all genuine.
