Hi, I wanted to know if anyone in the forum upgraded from the old 3DS XL to the New 3DS XL. I'm thinking of getting the new one, but I want to ask people who have the New 3DS XL now for their opinion. Is the 3D better and do you think it's worth the upgrade, considering I'll sell my old one? I do like that the new one can transfer files. The faster CPU is also a plus. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

I upgraded from the XL to the EU new 3DS, if that counts.
I really really love the new 3ds, everything from the amiibo stuff makes it better. I'm not sure if it's worth it if you already have a 3DS. But if you don't do it.

Honestly it wouldn't be worth it if you're just getting it for the new hardware; they're just gimmicks you'll get used to.

If however you're interested in the two N3DS games(Xenoblade X, which is on the Wii, and this one other game which is available on all other major platforms) then sure, go for it. Oh, and if you want to use the fancy amiibos and have money to spare.

In my opinion it's not worth it.

If you have a 3DS already, then there's no point. I don't think upgrading to any new console is worth it unless it comes with significant changes, which the New 3DS XL does not.

I agree with what everyone else has said so far...if you already have one, then don't because it's kinda gimmick-ey... One big plus that I noticed was with my new 3DS, the battery life is crazy longer than the old 3DS XL. I personally did notice the difference in the 3D effect, but I seldom play with the 3D on anyway.
If you're looking forward to the new titles that will be New 3DS XL exclusives, you should get the New one...However, if you want to upgrade, there are rumors that the Nintendo might release the 3DS that can use the custom face plates in the US sometime soon, so maybe hold out until the new-new 3DS XL comes out. haha! :p

I would get it if I were you.... I upgraded to a New 3DS XL about 6 months ago and I love every bit of it so far... :)

I upgraded from a normal XL to the New version, and the differences with the 3D are pretty amazing. It can actually sustain itself while I'm on a shaking bus. If you play Monster Hunter, Smash, and even Majora's mask, the extra C-stick comes in really handy too. There's a difference with loading times and download times as well.

This as well.... It's almost like upgrading from a dual-core processor smart phone to a quad-core processor smart phone... ALMOST

As well as it has Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and soon-to-be Hyrule Warriors that are exclusive to it now if you're interested in those games... :)

Hyrule Warriors Legends isn't exclusive, but from experience with the Wii U version, it will play a LOT smoother on the New systems. The only exclusive thing it has (so far) is 3D support.

Ah, you're right. X.X my mind was a blank and I forgot that it was already released on the Wii U... I beat it in fact which is pretty sad for my memory right now... lol

In contrast to everyone else, I own an original 3DS and I didn't like it as I begged for it over the 3DS XL mainly for price. The original 3DS was fine for playing games like Mario Kart 7 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf on, but the system overall couldn't fit my hands. The system's build quality also felt cheap in comparison to its XL counterpart. I will be upgrading to the New 3DS XL sometime around November to December as my 3DS can no longer read Game Cards so it is practically useless.

Basically, if you feel your 3DS XL is out of date to you and you like the exclusive games and features it offers to its older brethren, then I would suggest you get it!
