Not sure what you mean by fish/bug tanks, but actual fish and bugs can't be traded. Fish and Bug items froms the Fishing Tourney or Bug off can however.

You know how some people keep tanks in there's houses containing fish, Ie. They catch a fish and then keep it in a tank, that's what I'm after, the tank. I want to be able to catch a couple of rare fish and bugs and keep them in my house ready for the tournies, if that's even possible lol

All you have to do is catch the fish/bug you want in a tank, and put it in your house. o.o

Just choose the fish from you inventory insi your house and click "display." the tank appears around the fish.
