Update impressions!

Apparently the update is getting pushes now but i wont be able to play it until tomorrow what are you impressions of it?

Eh, I thought it was pretty boring. It was a small update in terms of content, imo. To be fair, swimming was a very meh feature for me in NL.

They could've at least included a nooks upgrade. We've had that store for 2 months.

It was hard to see anything in the rain.

Caught 13 creatures in a blue and white striped HIDEOUS wetsuit. (I want a black one!)

I had hoped for an underwater diving experience, but knew we'd get the bare minimum.

I enjoy it but I have always been neutral on diving(for me it never been make or break thing). There will alway be people who enjoy the update and who don’t. If driving isn’t interesting to you then you may not be excited. I do think have improved on diving from the past.

I'm just excited to have more things to collect tbh. It's also nice to see the other small updates they did like with Saharah's dialogue and renaming a few things.

I absolutely love the swimming. I know for players of previous games it might be underwhelming, but to a newbie like me it’s so fun and relaxing. Plus I love donating even more to the museum again!

Same! I'm loving the update Very addicting to look for new goodies to give to Blathers! The swimming animations are very well done and smooth. They included cliff diving which I know a lot people didn't think they would do.

There's a really nice looking seasonal item in Nook Shopping called Bamboo Grass (celebrating Tanabata)

I registered about 15 of the creatures already. Being able to swim again is nice. I also found three scallops already, so those are a lot more common than they used to be. I gave the first one I found to Pascal, and he gave me the recipe for a mermaid screen. Other than that...not much more for me to squeeze out of this content tonight. I will probably go diving again when I get into bed to sleep. It's a nice relaxing activity for bedtime. Lol.

i feel like they showed us exactly what we'd get so im not too let down or anything. i personally rly like swimming bc its something i can do while watching something else without having to worry about sounds like fishing, so this will most likely be my go to thing to make money while watching streams. im also excited to get more recipes, items, and passport titles (along with those sweet, sweet nook miles). sure they could have added some other things into this update, but im rly digging the tiny content updates they seem to push out every month.

I never enjoyed diving in acnl (having to chase those super fast crabs that would disappear past the boundaries brings back bad memories), and I don't like the mermaid or pirate set so its kinda meh for me.

However I do like the fact that theres more things to fill my museum with, and I really like Pascal! I love how he eats the scallop now! I also love that the bamboo grass is reorderable now, I remember having to trade intensely for it in acnl lol (it was my fav item!)

i'm enjoying it so far. i'm looking forward to collecting the diving gear and the mermaid clothes.
the only pitfall is that the diving controls somehow seem worse in this game imo.
the swimming feels slower (though that one could just be me) and the the "steering" after you've dove underwater is really weird. i turn my joystick one way, and my character goes the other. definitely not looking forward to hunting the rarer creatures with that rip.

I wish it wasn't mermaid stuff, or DIY's.

Pascal pirate items or the like would've been better.

There's already an overabundance of cute/pastel stuff, and not every bloke is in to that.

i’m pretty content so far! i’ve missed swimming and having pascal harass me for scallops. the material needed to make the furniture, pearls, seem kind of difficult to obtain which i’m not super happy about but i guess if that’s the worse thing about this update, then it’s still a pretty good update ^_^
