I agree with Marshal, I never understood what's so special about him that people like him that much.
I'm not really a fan of pastel/overall pink towns. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with
people who like these kind of town themes, however, if you go visit dream towns and almost every
town Luna suggests you is full of pink stuff here and there... Yeah, not really my thing, sorry.
I also don't like towns with too much flowers and paths everywhere.

my opinions are
-Hair bow wig, celeste ribbon, overalls. honestly.....
-forest towns are overused
-so are cherry blossoms
-clutteredness to the point where you keep running into trees isn't cool
-completely hacking your town and not even doing any landscape yourself. where's the real work?
-the overused town names. Paris, Meadow, etc...
-just tier 1's in your town
-the beach is the town dump and not actually a beach, don't come down here
-putting all the villager houses in a perfect circle or row. nah spread it out that looks very unnatural

Yeah, but the game is set in a rural, mountain village and the modern PwPs look out of place, imo. I agree with you on the rest, though.
Anyway, I think Marshal is popular because he reminds people of Zero Kiryu from Vampire Knight. I have never really understood why people like him that much, though.
Or Pietro, for that matter.
Or Chrissy or Francine.

There's a few popular villagers I don't care for. Dierdre is ugly to me. She looks like a manged chihuahua who got into some powdered donuts. I don't think Flurry or Apple are cute nor do I like Chrissy and Francine. Tangy is creepy looking to me.
I don't understand the appeal of towns where there's flowers, clovers, weeds, bushes and trees in the water. I can understand maybe some bamboo here or there in the river but anything else looks weird. Especially when it's in the ocean and has a shadow under it or is halfway floating in the air. I see this alot with hacked tumblr towns (nothing against hacking! you do you) and I don't think I've ever seen one that made it look good imo.

I really disliked those overly perfect paths towns. Like I get you wanna do maybe a pink walkway so people don't run but really do you sit like 500 hours pathing and plotting down everything.
I'd rather have a wild weed town than that. I mostly put down paths til I'm done moving in villagers.

The cat villagers and Marshal are overrated as all heck. Static is clearly the best squirrel, and the Kangaroos are clearly the best animal species.
!!! And the town themes, of course! Forest towns are overused. That's why I wanted Pixels to be so open in landscape even though it was gonna be nature-y AND make Alleyway into slums cause, come on, that's gonna look dope.

There are other towns besides mine in a circle?!
Although technically it isn't a circle. It follows an S shape with my rooftops in a rainbow pattern as my town name starts with an S.Also, I don't get the big deal about Marshal. The only reason he is in one of my towns is to fit the ugly/dark profile lol.

I've seen a lot of towns over the years, mainly hacked ones, with houses in a circle, sometimes PWPS in the middle and such, and I think it can be made to look nice depending on your town theme. Like... forest town?? No, logic says let villagers move in around the map if you really want a good closed forest feel. City? Sure. maybe. 2 rows of 5 or 2 houses next to each other in 5 different places in town looks better and more natural.
I'd say circles for houses are generally done badly though and they're tough to actually pull of well

I dislike how you can't plant trees and shrubs wherever you want. Oh, it's too close to the edge. Oh, it's too close to the rock path. And oh, a freaking street lamp needs x spaces left, right, and behind! Like why? It barely takes up any space when it's actually built! In rl, trees and plants grow through cracks in the cement. It really ruins my landscaping. So annoying.

- Rosie isn't that cute, I think she's kinda ugly imho. She's only popular because she was in the movie, show some love for other villagers!!
- peppy villagers are annoying. I can only have one in my town or I'll go crazy
- Octavian above Zucker and Marina (currently collecting the items he wants so I can get him into my ACPC camp. He's actually cute and him being cranky makes him 10x better)
- Overall dress, bandage and the heart bopper is overrated. Mainly the bandage and the overall dress

Yeah, I only keep paths so villagers don't move in bad spaces. Which leads me to I don't care who you plot villagers, I want them "perfect" because it'd never work with the weird town maps if I got them spread out.
