Much easier to just bookmark the network status page and refer to it when any issues occur.

Exactly, I'd rather go to the official network status page to see if it's running instead of trying to look for a thread that supposedly has the same purpose.

Even with ttaht as the case, this thread is still pretty pointless...

In defense of this thread, that network page doesn't seem to be very trustworthy, PLEASE prove me wrong if you can, but I myself feel like I've experienced an outage, looked on there and it said it was fine and it wasn't. It's possible one server was out and not the entire network, and the times it was messy was because my consoles were attempting to go to the broken server. While having the outage, others also said it was out, some also said it wasn't out, so that leaves an unanswered question. My/our internet connections were fine. Besides, the page still says that Wii & DS networks are working normally and weren't those the ones shut off in May this year?

That is talking about Netflix, Wii Shop Channel, Wii to Wii U Transfer, etc

It is not canceled for Youtube/Netflix and other services like that.
