Unique island themes

I made my island kinda townish-

like 4 different neighborhoods for different personalities/aesthetics
I also just did alot of waterfalls because they look cool
not really unique but I like it

My town theme is "What Makes Carole Feel Happy To Go There". LOL If I see or think of something I would like, I include it. I just want an island where I feel happy and content to spend many, many hours. I don't want to limit myself if I see something I like that doesn't fit a theme.

Consequently my island is not one of those that people would visit and say, "WOW, I love that island and it is so much better than my island!" Other people probably would not be impressed. I don't care. I love my island! I was just thinking about that this morning. It isn't spectacular but it is just the way I want it to be. It is my imaginary home.

My island theme is around the plaza and museum is developed but the farther you go everything gets more rural/wilder. I get to use both the cutesy and colorful decorations and the woodsy and brown ones. It’s still a huge WIP though.

It's funny cause, as soon as the game was announced and they showed the terraforming options, I thought of making a village in the forest (referencing the original title of the game) and that wasn't common at all during the "Japanese Pastel Horror winter" that was all the rage in NL (I don't recall seeing a single village that wasn't going for one of these aesthetics or a more urban one).

Then, surprisingly, I've seen a lot of people saying they are going to make a foresty island in NH. My idea is one of a deep forest, as if it was really a refuge of some sorts for the animals to live peacefully, not a resort or something like that.

My island theme is a small town on the edge of some woods, where an anomaly occurred. I want to put strange happenings and objects around for people to stumble upon (I have a simple well with handprints leading away from it, for example) and one of my player villagers is a scientist researching it all. I always really liked how horror themed towns in New Leaf had visual storytelling, and while I’m not going for full horror, I want to have that now that objects can go outside.

a back to the future theme sounds so cool !!! ive never seen that concept before, id love to see it implemented 😮

im basing my island off of the legend of zelda town skyloft !! ive recreated the large landmarks (skyloft lake, bazaar, fairy fountain, bath house, etc.) and added new zelda themed things like a triforce shaped pond. i also made new islanders so i could decorate their homes as the fortune teller and potion shop in the bazaar! its been so much work but im having a lot of fun creating it 😊

This right here! Only my theme is obviously "What makes meggiewes happy". I can't think of a better way to describe it. Thank you for putting my thoughts into words!

My island is strikingly similar in aesthetic to my New Leaf town- pink, greenery, and very foodie-themed. I have small sections of my island dedicated to different things, but I kind of have an overarching theme of 'food' all over the place haha! I have an outdoor cafe, picnic area, ice cream and snack area, garden and fruit area, fishing/seafood area... and next on my agenda is to make a hidden diner!
