Unexpected Favourites?

Al and Boyd. I got two gorillas on my island rather early. My brother found Al on one of those mystery island tours and grabbed him. I wasn't sure about that villager at first. I ended up liking him a lot. He moved out about a month ago, though, and that made me sad. I'm still sad about that when I think about Al. When I saw that Boyd had moved into a newly bought plot of land, I was disappointed. Not so much that he's a gorilla, but because I was hoping to look for specific villagers that I wanted. I ended up really liking him in the long run.

Apple. I got her as the first forced peppy villager, and I didn't like her at first, although I didn't dislike her either. Now she's not leaving my island, although I wish she had her original home...

Fauna.

I knew she was popular in New Leaf, so I figured her fame would carry over to New Horizons like Marshal's did. I knew she would be a lot of people's dreamie, so when I found her on an island, I moved her in with full intent on selling her or giving her away. She was the first person I found on an island, making her my forth villager in the game. But man, as time went on, she grew on me, and grew, and grew... and she managed to crawl her way into my heart and I love her to pieces. I finally understand the hype surrounding her. She's my baby, and I don't think I can ever let her go now. I'm waiting to see what will happen, but for right now, I think my soul is telling me to keep her forever

Mint. I always liked her design, but since being on my island I've gotten to love her! She makes the cutest faces and has the best house! Also Twiggy... I wasn't planning on keeping her originally, she's got the peppy starter home, but she brightens up my island.

Tammi. She was a random move-in and I think a lot of people aren't a fan of her design but she won me over, and I actually really like her design now.

When I saw Shep in my campsite and had to move him in, I thought he looked a little bit...bland.

But then I started getting to know him and he's one of my absolute favourites.

Something about his character design combined with the smug personality makes him come across as such a cool dude with a barely-hidden nerdy side. He also seems to be best friends with every other villager, too.

I had Marshal as well for a while, but there was only one smug for me...

Fauna.

They can do it how did it never happen to me proably becuase I always immadureky go to mystery islands

My most unexpected favourites are Dom, Stitches, Punchy and Deirdre. I always kind of liked Punchy’s design but didn’t get along with lazies in previous games (no idea why) but he was my first lazy in NH and I love him so much, he’s probably my favourite villager ever and I never thought I’d say that about anyone after all that time with my New Leaf villagers. Dom and Stitches both really took me by surprise though in the sense I wasn’t interested in their designs one bit, but when I met them I fell in love. Dom is so expressive and all the jock talk sounds so funny coming from him, and Stitches has so much character I can see why he’s so loved. I kind of forced myself to have Deirdre because I thought she’d be good with Fauna, even though I never liked her. Such a strange reason to move a villager in, but I’m happy to announce I love her to bits now I have got past those interesting white lips! I also never expected to like or want Audie but I met her on someone’s island after I had given up on trying to like the peppys in NH and weirdly she just felt right so I tracked her down.
Also I never expected to grow quite so fond of Fauna, who was my first normal in NH. All my plans to have the same villagers as in NL have gone out the window at this stage and instead I am just enjoying all the new favourites I’m making, of which there are so many!

Queenie. At the time, I was only missing a snooty personality and went island hopping after I gave up trying to invite Whitney to my island. I used 14 NMT to get her. Little did I know that I will come to appreciate her so much. There's not a lot of people who appreciate her, so I'm going to take the chance to make sure Queenie is well loved. And thanks to her, I'm starting to like emus in general. Fun fact: Did you know there was an emu war in 1932 in Australia? Apparently, the emus won...

Olivia and Snake.

These two were NOWHERE near being in my top 10 dream list. Weren't even tiny obscure blips on my radar.

But while hunting for pairs (2 cats, 2 rabbits etc.) I saw a picture of Olivia while hunting for a Raymond pair. I kind of said "screw it" and invited her to my island ... and she fit my island theme, it was a bonus.

THEN

came Snake. (A Coco pair) I'd gotten Olivia and Snake for their respective pairs BUT they surprised me by talking to each other all the time!!

Almost always Snake getting on Olivia's last nerve which is hilarious!! And Olivia's snark is on point, usually flying over Snake's head.

They're unlikely friends and I think that adds to the endearment I have towards them ♡ so when I restarted my island, they were automatically at the top of my dreamie list and I got the help from someone cycling to get Olivia and Snake back together.

Surely enough, within a few days they were back to their playful banter that I've come to love! ^.^

I’ve enjoyed having Queenie too! I’ve given her a few outfits and hats and she always looks very stylish.

I think Maple is my most precious villager now, her interior is stunning! And she just looks like a build a bear all the time. I also love Poppy for her adorable theme/design. Def my faves now.

I didn't expect to like Biff at all until I encountered him on a mystery island. Didn't even know who he was at first! I didn't invite him to my island though. Maybe one day

Canberra is definitely the one for me. I got her and dom as my starters and i loved dom but decided at the start that i was gonna move canberra out the moment she gave me a chance. As time went by i grew so attached to her now i cant let her go anymore

Definitely Lucky! He was the first villager I met on my mystery island tour and I was initially put off by his mummified design, but ended up taking him in because he said the sweetest things (gap moe???) I see him doing random things throughout my island, sometimes napping under a tree, other times eating something (usually a lollipop) or naruto running around the plaza. I also just love his silly interactions with my other villagers and the fact that he accepts every gift I give him with so much love. Just those small things, I guess.

Octavian and Moe... I got to know them playing Pocket Camp. Octavian is so funny! He keeps telling me to quit running like a silly nilly or I'll fall and Moe well I just love everything about him.. He has these huge, childlike eyes that are just gorgeous..
