I don't know if this will help any or even work, but did you try hitting 'new save file' instead of using an existing character? Since your game doesn't have to save to load (and doesn't save until after you get your tent and all) maybe it can be a bit of a workaround somehow?

Yeah I tried this already, after I build my tent and it tries to save the evil error message of death pops up again! ;-;

Only issue is, from what I can find, you need either an old 3DS (which they don't have) with an outdated firmware version or access to Ninjhax, Tubehax or Ironhax. I was interested in homebrew for a while so can openly say that Tubehax and Ironhax have been patched and Ninjhax requires Cubic Ninja... of which I sold my copy in three hours at ?60.

Yes, yes, talking about hacking is against the rules but we're trying to save someone's save data here.

I had to use some, erm, "unconventional methods" to restore it, but I'm glad it's not lost!!!

I had a problem similar to this. Try to load the game, and when the message comes, then quickly po out your cartridge. If it says anything along the lines "Your game cartridge is corrupted!" then you should pop out the cartridge as well. I'm not sure about whether this will work or not, nor am I sure about whether your cartridge will corrupt, but it helped when I did it :/

I thought that got patched too? Eh, maybe they found a way around it again. I don't want any instructions (Google would probably work to be honest) unless there are any interesting new Homebrew projects such as a version of RegionFour for DSi titles or an easier guide or method for making your own projects.

Got no interests in hacking ACNL as I'd probably mess something up, although having both police stations side-by-side sounds like fun. The ability to hack in items would probably be too strong though.
