Um WTF just happened?

So I forgot to save and reset, so I was doing everything I didn't do earlier.
I was walking around and came across this wierd scorpion red thing.
I got my net out but was too slow and it came up to me then my mayor had stars around her head and fainted.
Then I fell over and woke up at my house, is that wierd?
What was that someone explain please

You got stung. If you don't catch a scorpion {and this goes for a tarantula as well} it stings you or whatever and you pass out. It's normal

Wow, it's actually quite rare to encounter one.

Like bees, there are other harmful bugs in ACNL. I assume you were walking around at night? They will chase you until you are stung. I believe you can find more information about it here:

That was a scorpion, like a Bee that comes out of trees and sting you, scorpions and tarantulas attack you but this time, you faint. game then sends you back to your house. all part of the game, no worries

If you ever played ACWW you'd encounter a scorpion and/ or tarantula once every blue moon. They will sting/ bite you if you have your net out and don't sneak properly. You have to be very quiet so you don't alert them This isn't weird at all! I'm sure majority of us AC fans had this happen to them once or twice lol

The scorpion and tarantula won't reset you (i.e , you shouldn't have lost any progress). You just wake up outside your house--it isn't a reset. It's no different than if you run from your town to main street or enter or exit a villager's house, or when the game reloads on a new day if you haven't saved. Unless you turned off your game without saving, you won't have lost progress.

Nope it's not weird at all. It should happen lots more now that it's summer and those critters like to scare people at night. Sucks that's you turned off the game without save but live and learn I guess.

However, usually they would just run away but since you had your net out, that's why it turned around and stung you. Otherwise, they would run away and jump into the water or off the cliff. Good luck catching one. It took me roughly 4 tries to get it. They're pretty fast.

I actually find Tarantulas quite often but I've only ever seen one Scorpion. They scare the crap out of me xD
