Uhhhhh so I'm confused (custom designs)

So I was standing around with some refurbished items in my pockets. One of them is a mama polar bear that has a custom design for its shirt. So it's a gold leaf in my pockets instead of red. I always thought you couldn't give these to villagers? So right now Cherry ran up to me and she's super excited and wants to buy it. Will it go in her house with my custom design on it? Or will it disappear forever?

Refurbished. But they wear custom designs all the time , so i would assume that would so. Wait i remember seeing a vid and the teddy bear had a custom design shirt in their house.

Yeah see...I only want to say yes if she's actually going to put it in her house xD I can just re order a teddy bear but I won't get another opportunity to put my town flag inside of a villagers house!
