It seems as if many people judge animals on looks, and for some reason that really gets to me. I guess I'm being emotional or whatever... Do you judge animals on looks, or their personality?

I remember Pashmina moving into my town when I mainly judged on looks, so I wasn't too fond of her. After a day of speaking to her, she ended up being one of my favourites.

personality definitely, but for themed towns it's a different story [gotta have a certain type of villager, colour etc.]

I wouldn't want Harry to be in my town tbh. I wouldn't really care much about personality becauseball of them say the same lines.

Sort of both. Sometimes cute villagers with, say, uchi personality really annoy me, but sometimes a really nice normal villager who looks a bit ugly can get on my nerves.

But that might just be because I'm a bit picky :lemon:

I don't want some ugly villager in my town though Dx Occasionally I'll grow to love them but most of the time... NNOOOOO

Half and half, but if the villager is someone like Harry or Hippeux, then out they go.

Well I do judge them on looks mainly.
They are just virtual animals, although I do get attached to them,
I want to have the ones I find look best in my town.

Yes and no, for me...

Certain villagers, like Hippeux and most of the hippos/gorillas, I don't want. That's because of their looks.

However, I love villagers like Coco, Pashmina, Deirdre, etc, none of whom I find very appealing looks-wise. (Okay, maybe not Pashmina, but still. And Coco is creepy-cute.)

I can't think of many villagers off the top of my head, though.

I typically do. Just because their looks kind of make my town look ugly to me.

I get attached to villagers if they move into my town no matter what (unless you are sheldon moving where i want to build cafe or boone moving right where i want to build paths), so I...don...

I will pick villagers based on looks, however. All of them have 90% the same scripts as others of their personalities, minus animal-specific and family/dream/bday/saying dialogue. Which is also partly sourced from aesthetics. After I realized I accidentally memorized every conversation path in WW, I've grown less fond of AC AI. Not to say I think the developers did brilliantly with it and I do think of villagers as "cute" or "sweethearts" or "sassy lil ****s" due to it, it's just not complex enough for me to actually judge my a villager for it! Aesthetics, on the other hand, are different for every villager.

You're entitled to your own opinion though! I don't think it quite matters how other people judge villagers.

There are only eight personalities in the game, so of course people are going to judge based on looks. Out of those eight personalities I definitely like some more than others, but within each personality of course I'm going to want the ones that look the best to me. There are some villagers who find their way into my town that I end up loving, but since I've started plot resetting that doesn't happen much anymore.

everyone has a different opinion on what is "ugly" so in the end i think all villagers will be loved one way or another :~)

all of the villagers of a certain personality have the same exact lines, actions, dialogue, etc. so you kind of have to judge them based on looks

haha it's kinda funny that harry is the default "ugly" guy on the forum :^P poor guy! i like his house
