'Ugly' villagers that grew on you?

I never really thought of him as ugly but Egbert has for sure grown on me. He was a starter in my town and every day I fall a little more in love with him. He always has that sad look on his face but he says the sweetest things, so I could never part with him.

I grew really close to Tabby in City Folk. At first I didn't like her at all and I wanted her to leave, but over time I grew to adore her. She eventually left, and I was so sad. As for New Leaf, I grew close to Katt. She didn't live in my town for very long, but I enjoyed having her.

I love Biskit only because of nostalgia. And to be honest, until this year I thought he was female...
The same goes to Apollo, though he only grew on me because of the anime.
Fang is another story. With my very first ACNL town, he was on of the original villager. I didn't think much of him at first, but his character grew very much on me. I know he (and Apollo) are popular, but I wouldn't consider them the most beautiful villager (sorry!).
In my current town I randomly got Felicity in a perfect place, and her 'normal' appearance made me love her! She also has such a sweet character.

In my first New Leaf playthrough, Canberra was my first move-in. At first I was annoyed because I thought Uchi-types like her were rude based from her first dialogues when she was packing her things. She lives beside my house, so that didn't helped from my impression of her for being annoying and she also looks weird. Later on, I find out that she's not that bad. Her house is nice, I like the music on her house, she keeps on asking me to come visit her even we live next door... She was like an actual neighbor! Her appearance isn't that ugly to me now that I got used to it, I find it a bit funny and cute. Unfortunately I had to let her out of my village after I established my campsite and I got rid of my first town when I got busy (and threw a minor hissy fit when Rolf and Phoebe left me without any warning).

i really like Boone Frobert at first i though they were ugly and having them around more they have started to grown on me

When I first saw Hamphrey, I wanted him to move out because he just looked so grumpy and strange. But then he started saying the sweetest things and calling me his best friend, and my heart melted. Now he's staying forever <3

My experience was the same with Hamphrey!!! He looks so grumpy until you get to know him! Total happy surprise

Alfonso may not be the best-looking villager, but he's definitely my favourite lazy because of his catchphrase and shirt!

I had never heard of Croque until very recently. And I guess some people would think he's kinda ugly. But now I'm definitely considering having him as my cranky, because I LOVE Croque's house interior! Also, he's a cranky frog like the last cranky I had, who was Wart Jr. Wart Jr. actually wasn't that bad either.

And speaking of frogs, I lbegan to like Jambette more after finding out she's a normal. I really like normals, they're so kind!

And then there's my most recent move-in, Hazel. When I first heard about her, I thought she was cute because of her catchphrase. Also she's a squirrel, which is one of my favourite species. I haven't talked to her yet, but I'm hoping that I'll like her as much as the other adorable squirrel I have, which is Poppy.

Nate, to be totally honest. When I initially got him in my GameCube town, I wasn't a fan. However, the longer he was there, the more that I grew to love him. Today, he's one of my favorite visitors. The same applies to Freckles.

Also, Tabby. She isn't one of my ultimate favs, but she's a little cutie.

I've never thought of them as ugly but:
Katt, Tabby, Hazel, Ricky, Beardo, Pippy, Canberra and Diva. There are probably more, but those are all the ones I can think of right now.

Rasher! I had him as a starter once and he really grew on me. I actually find him cute now!

Joey! some people may consider him ugly because of his thick eyebrows, but after talking to him a bit i realised how cute he can be, and he honestly makes me laugh whenever i'd catch him having a conversation with one of my villagers because he says the silliest things sometimes!

henry. i wouldnt say hes ugly but hes kinda dull compared to my other villagers. but hes my first best friend in the game and ill always love him.

rizzo!! i don't think he's that ugly, but i can see why others would. he is one of my starting villagers on my very first save file and can be quite fun to talk to. while i'm thinking of kicking him out of my town soon, i will still love him regardless. <3

Gaston is seriously the coolest 8 ) I remember playing GC AC and I just loved his personality, he was like my best bud haha. Overall I actually liked him so much in ACNL I just bawled when I accidentally TTed him out lol, well oops :')

I just restarted and I have Cesar and Al, although Al I think is the uglier of the two apes, he is already growing on me very quickly!

Katt, definetly! When she first moved in I thought she looked weird, but she quickly grew on me and we became BFF's. She's just so funny and awesome and IMO she really isn't that ugly! When I eventually deleted that town I made it a priority to have her in my new one, and I got her!

Joey. He's such a cute little rubber ducky if you can get past those eyebrows (Which is strange, because I personally can't stand Hazel's unibrow). I had him in Wild World and he was my best friend there. Nowadays, I don't normally think of him when it comes to dreamies, but he's always welcome in my town.

Peewee, Grizzly and Hugh! I don't think any of them are cute, but they're all really sweet villagers Particularly Peewee, he was an original from my first town and I just couldn't ever let him go, I ended up resetting with him still in my town- which I felt awful about :'(
