I'm trying to get to 150,000 HHA points, but I also really don't want my rooms to look super ugly. What are some combinations of sets that work well together?

EDIT: I'm currently at 110,000. My highest score ever was 127,000.

how about modern wood and alpine? i think they would look nice together, and the HHA themes are rustic for both.

The best set combinations I can think of now are:
-Spooky + Creepy;
-Cabana + Exotic;
I suppose the insect set + the flower set can work together, too (But that's only my opinion).

Haha! I barely use sets either because I don't like the look of them too! I think my highest HHA score has been around the same as you - 100,000 or so. I made a second character to decorate with some sets I actually like and am currently working on a room that combines the princess and the egg set because I think the pastels look nice together. (The Princess and The Egg should be the title of something!)

Cabana and Exotic is definitely a good pick. :)

These are all lovely suggestions! Specifically, I think if I customized the modern wood to the simple pattern and used the alpine set with it, it would look great. Thanks!

Right? The only sets I like by themselves are extremely boring looking (green set, classic set). But the Princess and Egg sets together sounds adorable!

I wish something would work well with the cabin set customized to white (which is what I have in one of my rooms now, but I'm struggling with that some).

I had the same dilemma, but sets that were a bit like each other never quite worked, so I went with sets that deliberately clashed. The best was the fruit and citrus sets, with rococo :D

Well part of it comes down to your tastes, but I once saw the rococo and creepy set together and they looked wonderful!

Oh, I love the dark green of the green set. But yeah, I like mixing everything up.

I'm missing bits of both the egg and princess set and have too many benches/wardrobes/sofas from both of them. Haha. The egg set looks so much better from the back, and right now I'm pretending my egg bench is a chest at the foot of the princess bed even though I know you lose points when furniture can't be used.

Do you have a picture of the customised cabin set? I'm not sure what it looks like. If it's white... well I'm thinking the purplish rococo set could be mixed well with the alpine set, or maybe the refurbished white ranch set.

I have a mixture of rococo and regal furniture in my main room and I think it looks fantastically classy if I do say so myself. :p

edit: I should say, they're all refurbished to be pink so they look very similar. You could refurbish them to the color of your liking to match.

I think the Rococco and Mermaid sets look good toghether, especially when the Rococco set is purple. But for lots of points, I would say buy the Gorgeous furniture set. I did, and got the gold HHA badge the next day.

Creepy and Rococo customized black are great for a haunted house theme.

I combined the Mush series with various kitchen items for a cool kitchen/dining room.

I also liked the Pirate series with the Fish series for a nautical theme, though neither of those series' has a storage item, which is a little annoying. Added some stuff from the Island as cool extras for the nautical theme.

Kiddie (pastel)+Egg
Kiddie (fruit)+Citrus
Creepy+Rococo (gothic black)
Modern wood+Alpine (I prefer beige)
Insect+Weeding Day
Sci-fi+Astro (black and blue)
Sleek+Astro (black and blue)
Weeding Day+Green (grass green)+(optionally) Patchwork (green)
Modern+Sleek
Pirate+Golden

On a whim, I also tried Blue (light)+Cabana (gold) and it looked surprisingly nice.

When I got 2+ million, I used the Fairy Tale theme, and picked sets that didn't have a theme to jack the score sky high. The rooms all had FT themed Series, and the sets I believe were string music, frog (just a table and chair but what the heck), little things like that.

I just came up with a new idea! I think that the snowman series + ice series work well together. Not perfect, but kinda neat! (I have the mix of these two sets in my room)

Regal and Princess and Rococo customized to white. Especially when you do some of the items from the regal set in blue or pink, they go together fabulously.

This is awesome. :)

I also noticed there are a lot more options when you realise how different things look after being customized. I can't stand the fluro pink of the lovely series, but pink/white or pink/black actually look kinda cute & open up a lot of options for a previous hot-pink only series.

In Wart Jr's house I was testing out a great combo of modern wood + the simple furniture customized dark green. Gives a Forrest vibe. :)

White rococo + lovely series customed to pink + white (tried in Marina's house & looks great) + marshmallow seats.
