Getting two islands seems to definitely have it's own pros and cons. I've been considering it deeply, but I find the decision to be quite difficult. Spending $260+ to buy another switch, plus a copy of the game seems like way to much money, but at the same time... so many new possibilities! So, I wanted to hear if you do/don't have 2 islands, and what is it like? Is it worth it? Do you enjoy just having one island? Thanks :)

Riip sleep if i had another island.

Either I create a whole themed island or I use it to farm like crazy.

As to spending additional $$$ I don't think it's worth it.

I don't. I have a second Switch, but it doesn't work properly, hence why I got a new one (it doesn't recognize the joy-cons when they're attached to the sides, and I only use in handheld mode, so that's not ideal- which is why I was THRILLED when the Lite was announced and released!). I was actually thinking earlier that I may ask for a second one and a physical copy of the game for Christmas. Or just use some of my salary from my job to buy myself a second one- but I'd like to wait to see if there's a really good deal on Switch Lites at some point.

It's not something I'm in a rush to do... but definitely something I'd enjoy and hope to do eventually.

I don’t. Can’t afford another switch and could only afford the one I have along with the game since it was my birthday when I got it and my mom combined it with another event we celebrate. Even if I could afford it, I’d get burnt out and lose interest since I have anxiety and get overwhelmed easily. I don’t think it’s worth it right now either with the limited furniture selection; I haven’t decorated my house yet because of that and the rooms are smaller than they were in NL & HHD (that messed up all of my plans ><).

I Hope you get it repair as it will bug me if i was in your place.

I have a hard time handling one. lol

Two would probably be a bit overwhelming, and one might get more love than the other.

Who need sleep when you got a Bed and Nintendo switch lite and This game with Moster Drinks.

Do you have the physical copy of the game? If you do then you wouldn't have to buy a second copy of the game.

I have definite plans on getting a second one. I saved up a lot for my vacation this summer which didn't actually get to happen and so I decided that as soon as the coral switch lite comes back in stock I'm going to purchase it. The new island will be one I don't TT on at all (I did admittedly do it when I first got the game because I was stir crazy in quarantine and also sick, so I didn't have ANYTHING else to do sdlfkjsdf so I submitted to the weakness, and I"ve been TTing after I got back on three weeks ago to catch up to current date) and one that I don't use amiibo cards on. It'll be a way to have my other favorite villagers lol. I want to make a journal for it and everything too.

They just need to restock the coral switch lite first though. So I'm waiting on that.

One is enough, and I don't want or need a second switch.

I really wanted another island but not willing to spend that much money just for it tho, the reason why I want another island is because I wanna try different things aside from the theme I'm doing on my main island, too bad nintendo decided to go for 1 switch 1 island which sucks :(

I actually started my second island last month bc a coworker was practically giving her switch away so I went for it! I didn’t have to buy the game a second time though as I have the downloaded version and am using the same Nintendo subscription on both switches. Since I’ve been back to work I haven’t had much time to get burnt out but I imagine if I was still in quarantine it would’ve happened by now. But I will say my first island is essentially done until we get more items and stuff so it was nice starting over! I love all my og island villagers and I’m really just working on getting their photos and learning the last 3 reactions I need! but these were the pros and cons for me:
Pros:
-more villagers! Why stress over a dreamies list when you got 20 villagers
-getting to try themes or different decorating styles (my first island had no theme so my new one is Greek inspired!)
-using custom designs that I had saved but didn’t have space for on my 1st island
-the opportunity to be on a diff hemisphere (My new island is in the Southern Hemisphere!)
-there’s for sure more but I’m stumped bc I’m tired lol

cons:
-since I’ve done one island already I wanted to jump right into decorating but didn’t have many items to decorate with (spent my first week pretty much unlocking terraforming and laying custom paths)
-doing a rock garden AGAIN
-if I want to get items from my 1st island onto my second I have to use my secondary character from there to open the gates on online so that’s two Nintendo memberships needed (I just used the trial though)

Voted yes because I’m anticipating my lite coming in the next few days.

I have a couple reasons why I’m doing this. Most of these refer back to one theme.
1. I’ve always wanted to go SH on my island, ever since the February direct. However, since this game was a gift for my parents, I went with NH.
2. I feel a bit cramped with what I can do with my island when it’s shared. I’ve pretty much developed all I can on my third of the island (and it has to be at least semi-accessible to my parents).
3. I’m a commuter to college and I often have big gaps between classes so it would be nice to have something to work on between breaks after homework (though quarantine means less commutes). The switch we have stays at home, so I needed a second one for that.

I love my parents and don’t really hate sharing an island with them, but I feel like I’m going to have a lot more fun with an island that I have full control of. Plus, I’ll be able to play with them without the janky couch co-op!

One thing I would like to note is that I pondered over this for over 3 months. I’d suggest that anyone thinking about this wait and see if you REALLY want to take the plunge.

We just got a second switch and set up a Southern Hemisphere island first one is north). It feels strange but fun to have two different seasons (different critters and items). We have multiple players in the house so are not burnt out yet.

I kind of have 2 islands. My husband doesn't really play anymore, so I often use his island to get a good turnip price lmao

I don't but I did have two towns for new leaf and 2 3ds consoles (I have two consoles for seperate reasons though, I wouldn't have done it purely for a second town keep in mind) so that I could store stuff from own town to another for resets, dreamie hunting, changing themes etc. It was awesome for a little while at first but then it just became such a hassle to have two animal crossing games to look after. In the end they were both the same game and I only used one. I much prefer just having one copy and putting all of my energy into it exclusively. Having two islands might be fun and could work well for you but I'm not sure I would recommend it from my experience or the price tag. That's just my opinion though, if you want to do it and have the means to then thats fine too!

I’d get burnt out and lose interest

^^
This. I had a very long hiatus afterwards as well. Same would apply to New Horizons.
