This is kind of a rant I guess? I just kind of reached a turning point in ACNL.
I call it a turning point but honestly I'm more like reaching a desperation point.
Couple of weeks ago I realized I don't really like my furnishing in the mayor house, so I removed everything and started anew.
I have that little mall kind of idea in my head, but I miss so much items I can't continue and of course I know I can trade with people online, it doesn't change the fact for me that the long process of refurnishing my home is kind of blocking me from enjoying the game.
I kind of see it as a responsibility and I don't want a game to be a responsibility. I play games for fun, school is responsibility.
What do you think? Do you guys ever reached this point? Where things you loved to do suddenly become chores you look against?
Thanks for reading. ^v^'

I think you should take a break if it's becoming a chore like stop playing for a week or a month until you get excited about playing again it's just a game at the end of the day it shouldn't be stressful it should be fun and stress relieving

I agree with charyse; if it's starting to feel like a chore, maybe it's time to take a break. At the very least a break from refurnishing your house. I still have a ton to do in my house, but only work on it whenever I feel like it. You shouldn't feel pressured to make your house all fancy again ASAP, just take it easy!

I know how you feel, though my situation is a little different. See, I don't like to sell stuff that I can't re-order. The only problem is, I buy/trade so much stuff that half the stuff I don't know if it can be re-ordered or not. So I throw it on the ground. My beach is completely covered. My mayor house has NO space on the floor and half the rooms can't even be entered. Closet space? I don't even open my closet. Recently my cycle town has started to become a dumping ground as well. I figured "Meh, I'll sell these sets!" *drops on ground* Nope.

I'm overwhelmed every time I play animal crossing. I find myself clicking on re-tail and getting excited to see a good deal. I buy that stuff because in my head it's going to look PERFECT in my upstairs bedroom..

Animal crossing has become a job for me.

All the time... animal crossing I feel is a game that really borders that line of fun enjoyable game to relax with and game that makes you do a lot of chores and responsibilities.
Normally it is balanced well... but sometimes it isn't.
Sometimes the best way I find to take care of it is to just take a break from it for awhile... If you are worry about anyone surprise moving, write down the last day you played so when you pick it back up again you can change your 3DS clock back to that day and everything will still be there.

You can always enjoy animal crossing stuff without actually playing the game...
Like TBT and other websites.
So it maybe time to take a break from the actual game and enjoy just chatting about it or looking at fan art or something.

I got really bored of New Leaf when the fall hit. I played constantly over the summer and it burned me out greatly. After a few months (too extreme I know) I decided to restart my town to get a fresh start (I wouldn't recommend that you do it) and I realized that the break really did help. Same goes with anything really. If it starts to feel like a chore, take a break and come back to it later.

Yes I might take a break, but just from the house I think, I enjoy my sweeties too much and I totally love to design the gardens. Just the house feels as much of a chore as laundry and homework!

Whenever games start feeling like a chore, that's when you stop playing and you take a break. I actually just got back from a hiatus from AC:NL haha. I took a nice long break and now I'm back playing it again.

I took a 3 month break when I started feeling like this and now I cant stop playing again haha

My house is a chore, so I only furnish it when an item I need happens to be on sale or something. It's currently a major WIP, and will probably be stuck that way eternally.

I'm currently taking a break from playing because I got burned out and was just bored. I had the same problem with my house and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with it. I sometimes toy with the idea of resetting but I've spent so much time on this game and I really don't want to go through the whole tutorial stuff and what not again.

You should take a break if it ever stops being enjoyable, do something else. I haven't been playing the game for long but I don't think you're forced to do anything in particular after the first few steps of getting your house set up and becoming mayor. You're supposed to set your own goals, so if you're not enjoying redecorating, take a break. Do something you actually enjoy, leave the office the way it is if it doesn't bother you. If it does bother you, you can always slowly work your way to how you want it to look, by setting yourself small goals like getting one item each week or so.

For example, redecorating my house is annoying to me because I suck at focusing on paying off house loans and deciding what I want to buy. I rarely ever hang out in my ACNL home, so it's just not a priority and I do just the bare minimum. I'll keep doing it until I feel motivated to change it around and put all the work into it.

i really need to take a break, currently im still juggling 3 copies and i just need to cut it out completely. i took a break from WoW because i got burnt out, and now im starting to feel that familiar tug of missing it -- i cant log in because my sub is out, so i think once the pull gets really strong ill go back and ill probably start playing a lot again. i think i need to do the same with AC, and it looks like you do too.

Dont visit your house for a while! Just make sure the entire place is completely blank, leave all valuables-non reorderables in storage and one day you will get the inspiration and willpower needed to just start again and it will actualy be fun, instead of just being a chore! (Also, using that time to visit Dream Villages to get inspiration for when you want to start re-fubrishing the whole place again would be a good idea too.)

And yeah, I reached that point many times at my old town. I had worked a lot in making all the rooms in my Mayor?s house look perfect (Lots of refubrishing) and at the end I just got tired of it all, but I felt like just throwing it all away would be an insult to all my hard work! And then I made a bunch of TTing mistakes that lost me villagers and hybrids... to a point where I just got sick of my town. The final thing that sealed the deal on me resetting was when I demolished my fav bridge by the waterfall and could not rebuild it because of my caf?.
