Tuna fishing!

So I'll admit I only recently realised you can only catch specific fish at the pier! However looking online, the screenshots I'm finding seem to be on island tours rather than home island. I noticed I can't stand on the pier and sprinkle fish bait (assuming this means the airport, not the separate dock sort of thing) - so I'm curious where specifically to Tuna and any other pier fish spawn? Just around the airport, or do I have to stand on the wooden part of the airport (where I can't sprinkle bait) to see pier-only fish? Or do I need to go on a Nook Miles tour? Sorry a bit confused - thank you!

you can catch them at the separate wooden dock on your island, not the airport!

They only spawn at docks. I find the best luck is to use fish bait and wait for the largets shadow to appear. They can spawn without bait (still on the dock) on random Nook Mile islands.

I painstakingly crafted 40 bags of bait last night to try and catch one. I caught it on the 3rd try, now I have 37 bags of bait left, what a massive waste of time.

Just stand on the end of the pier and keep tossing bait until u get a big shadow (bigger than sea bass) it'll either be a Tuna or Blue Marlin.

They can spawn by the empty dock, or you can use fish bait to force them to spawn.

I have caught them off the airplane pier on a mystery tour, but I've not tried fishing off the airport dock at home once I realized I couldn't spread bait there.

I found myself getting the dock specific fish a lot more often on Nook islands!
