I'm on the fishing tourney event day, I was thinking that if I kept TTing just a little to stay on this day then no one would move in right?? Or is that a bad idea and they just simply won't ping me and someone will move in?

I have 9 villagers and I'm trying to hold that spot open for someone who said they'd get me one of my dream villagers? *___*

No one can move in if you stay on the same day. Move-ins happen when a new day starts at 6AM, so as long as you don't move forward (or backwards) past 6AM, you should be fine!

No problem. (:

I TT'd to stay on the same day for probably 3 weeks in my main town before I could move someone in to prevent a random move-in. .-. It worked, though.

if you'd like to keep playing but dont want any random movings then I recommend that you keep playing but start each day with a new character. then search the map VERY CAREFULLY for villager plots. if you find no plots then just start the day with your mayor, if you do find a plot then TT (via the 3ds internal clock) to the previous day (where you had no plots) and stay there until you get the trade. then once you ask your dreamie to move in it will override the other villager.

KEY:
NO RANDOM MOVE IN
RANDOM MOVE IN
DREAMIE MOVE IN

EXAMPLE:
March 15 - Started with new character, saw no plots. Played the game normally with mayor.
March 16 - Started with new character, saw no plots. Played the game normally with mayor.
March 17 - Started with new character, saw no plots. Played the game normally with mayor.
March 18 - Started with new character, saw a plot for Harry. Quit without saving. Change the 3DS internal clock to March 17
March 17 - Went back to March 17 with mayor, wait for dreamie trade. Once you get Dreamie (lets say its Julian) talk to him and ask him to move in.
March 18 - The game only remembers the last villager that was planning on moving in. So Julian should now appear instead of Harry's.

NOTE:

This method could be a bit complicated so only do it carefully and make sure that it is with a new character each time. Staying within the same day is of course easier though.

Oh man, I didn't even know about this, though I guess it makes sense.
This is really handy, thank you!
