Welp, I must have done something wrong because I went back about a month to August 23rd. Then went to August 25th. Then come back to today. All of my hybrids - which I watered this morning - and 95% of my normal flowers are gone. There's weeds everywhere. I don't know what I did wrong.

Before you time travel you need beautiful ordinance added and wait a day for it to take effect. Going back it doesn't cause problems if you don't have beautiful ordinance. Going forward a month is why you lost flowers.

[*]To prevent any flowers from wilting if you want to go more than a day or so ahead, set the Beautiful Town ordinance as your town ordinance if it isn't already. Note that the changed ordinance doesn't go into effect until the next in-game day at 6 AM, so if you need to make it your ordinance, remember to go to the next day before doing the heavy duty time travel. As for weeds, Beautiful Town should keep them relatively under control. I still get some sometimes, but they're manageable and less than would appear without the ordinance in place.

This is why I've never wanted to try TTing. I knew I'd forget something and screw it up. I was so focused on making sure to talk to all the villagers and find the one who was moving that even though I read ZombifiedHorror's post it didn't sink in.

If you need any help growing hybrids let me know. I'm currently working on spawning my blue roses and purple pansies. But I have a pair of other hybrids. Just let me know which ones to grow. Oh, I also have some extra pink roses.

Believe it or not I TT'd for a stupid fish - which I did get, thankfully. I think I'm done with TTing other than within the same day. Thank you for the offer. I'm actually finding myself more upset about all of the normal flowers I lost for some reason. I think it's because they lined all of my paths.

You could go to tours on the island and instead of doing the task just filling your pockets with flowers... the insect tours especially have a lot, you can get the normal ones you had back in a day

Thankfully a friend on here said she has tons of regular flowers she can give me when I'm ready. I'm planning on focusing on the hybrids first, I think.

Surprisingly that was one of the few things the guides I googled agreed upon. It sounds like you learned about it the hard way. Sorry about that.

I'm salty because I knew better but forgot. I'd meant to check the prices before noon and so was like, "oh I'll jump back." I remembered as my town was loading.
