I have a couple questions about time traveling backwards since i am completely clueless on how it works lol

Does moving backwards act as if you're moving forwards? I remember once i went one day ahead, than went one day back and all the stores items were different. What's that about?

Just today i had a Amelia in boxes so I TTed forward to March 13 to get rid of her so i can go to another persons town to get Fang. If I go back a day (back to March 12th) would Fang be moved in? Would Amelia still be there? Would it mess up the whole process of getting a villager from another person's town in general? As you can see i'm confused as heck

If anyone can enlighten me with their knowledge of TT backwards please do, as i'm absolutely clueless! Thanks guys

any period of TTing backwards past 6am on the day you're on counts the same as TT one day forwards

- - - Post Merge - - -

so any villager in boxes would be gone, and any invited move ins would possibly have a lot (if not, then it should be in the next day or so)

and of course, this will change the move date for villagers that are planning to move but aren't in boxes yet by -2 days if you TT 1+ days backwards and then play as normal (-1 days for going backwards and -1 more for when the clock hits the next day going forwards)

oh, and obviously the above -2 thing is only for if the villager isn't planning to move the next day when TTing backwards

ex: a villager plans to move on the 14th, and you TT backwards on the 13th. then they will be in boxes on the new load

but if they plan to move on the 14th and you TT on the 12th, then the next day after whatever date you'll TT to they'll be in boxes.

so ex: 12th go to the 11th, changes the move date to the 13th for skipping a day, and then when it htis the 12th again normally the move date gets changed again to the 12th

So it's not really TTing backwards in that case since items are changed in stores and such. I'm guessing that also means Fang would be moved in?

ohhh okay i understand now. so going back to march 12th would sorta be like a different day, since fang would be moved in(maybe) and items would be different etc. kinda confusing but i understand a lil more :) thanks for helping!

for villager moving think of it as a countdown timer as opposed to a set date

every time the "day" changes in-game it subtracts from the timer by a number of days that "changed"

and once that timer hits 0, the villager will be in boxes

but if hit negatives, then the villager will just be gone

if going forward this doesn't change anything, but backwards can make it go all wonky

- - - Post Merge - - -

also I think i may of miscalculated and it'll actually just change by -1 day instead of -2

but everything else holds true

interesting! that makes sense. definitely understand it more now c:

actually no wait I think my error is me overthinking stuff and the -2 does hold true

uhhhh

its been ages since I last moved any villagers out, so can someone confirm for me if its -2 or -1?

I'm pretty sure its -2, but I would like a second opinion from someone else that knows their stuff

I usually don't TT backwards when villagers are moving since dates can get messed up, but I think it goes like this.

TTing backwards, no matter how far you go, counts as 1 day. Say a villager is moving on the 24th. You are currently on the 20th. You have 4 days left until the villager moving is in boxes. You TT backwards 1 day. Since it counts as 1 day forward, you now have 3 days left until the villager is in boxes. Since you TT'ed back 1 day, you are now on the 19th. Now that there are 3 days left, the villager will probably move on the 22nd.

I'm not entirely sure, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
