I'm trying to make a fruit orchard.
Which way seems better in your opinion?

Rows or columns?

I think it's up to you, as everyone prefers different looks for their orchard. It can also depend on what you want your island to look like overall or functionality if you harvest the fruit regularly. You could even stagger your trees if you wanted to. I doubt this is very helpful, sorry lol.
