I've just decided to end my two month hiatus and return to New Leaf. I know there's a new update, and I've been lurking around the threads to learn a little about it. It seems rather interesting, which sparked my interest to return. From what I can remember, I believe one of my villagers were moving out (Carmen, my baby!) so I have to create an alt character to check everything out in my town. Will the update affect anything drastically? Like the new campground thing? I'm just trying to cause as little damage to my town as possible.

EDIT:Another question, I've heard that you can check how much your town is worth by trying to restart it with Isabelle and then she asks you if you plan to start a new town or take a break, etc. What would happen if you said "take a break"?

Before considering the value check, read a few of the recent posts on the subject.

I've read a few of the post on value checks and I wasn't planning on doing one even though my town is 2 years old, I was wondering what the "take a break" option does. Like, does it make it so when you leave for like a few weeks, your town won't be affected or does it save your town or what?

taking a break makes you restart your town. I chose that so yea.

First of all....hi!!!!!!

Ok so if you choose to reset your town Nook will give you an offer in Bells. At the end he will say do you want to build right away or take a break...

If you say "take a break" it will reset your town immediately and not give you your bells!! This is a trick! Everyone Don't be fooled!
So instead you tell Nook - rebuild right away and it will take you to the Start screen and Rover. Rover will offer you four maps.
You have to choose one of those four maps. If you don't like them exit to the home menu and then you Should still have your old town. Then you have to do the process over and over again. If you want to keep your Bells, items and catalog this is a long process to reset but it would be worth it in the end!

Good news if you decide to keep your catalog it looks like you keep villager requested PWPs! It does not count on Resetti, Katrina, Brewster, 2nd floor museum, flower clock but the others would be so nice to have!

Hope this helps you :) Welcome back :)
