Trying to cycle but initial villagers wont leave

I'm trying to get a villager cycle going but none of my villagers seem to want to leave. I am officially town mayor with a house and everything. I even introduced myself to all the villagers and got my train station card.


Anyone know what the problem could be?

Have you talked to them all within a week? If you don't talk to your villagers for a week or more, they won't ping you for anything.

I don't think they have to ping you to leave. I've had villagers leave behind my back.

If you have less than 8 villagers, they will not ping. Wait until you get all your villagers first.

They don't have to, but it's easier to know if someone wants to that way.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I have 9 villagers and have been skipping around for over 3 months.

You have to befriend them, aka talk to them and do their favors until they request one or two and it gets their friendship up a bit, keep TTing day by day and talking to all of them. Do favors and eventually their friendship will be high enough to get them to try to leave.

did you visit tom nooks shop? i was having trouble cycling but then i visited his shop and after that everything was fine.
