trouble catching sharks

I don't know if its a glitch or that I'm just exceptionally terrible at catching sharks but sometimes the bobber goes under water and the splash noise happens and it gets away as if I tried to reel too soon.

Can someone please help me figure out what's going on?

I think they might just be very tough to catch in general! I know I'm having the same problem here!

Sharks are very fast. You have to be really quick when catching them; I used to have trouble catching them too.
I usually don't look at the shark, instead, I listen for the sound of the bobber.

That happens to me, as well! I thought it was just me, bc after trying to catch 3 sharks it kept doing the same thing.

Like mint said they are very fast. you have to have really good reflects to catch them and sometimes they just get away automatically, keep trying tho!

This is great advice. I have the most trouble catching fish when I have my volume too low because I go by the sound it makes. If I try to figure out when they're going to bite just by watching, I lose them. It helps to ignore the fish and pay attention to the bobber if it's a catch that you really want, otherwise you psych yourself out.

Hearing the sound is very useful, but what I do is count the nibbles. Every fish is different, but when a fish nibbles four times, the fifth nibble is always going to be a bite. Sharks usually throw me off because they usually bite once.

Good comments all around; IMO, the sound effect cues SLIGHTLY before the dip of the lure. Make sure your arms, hands, & your trigger finger are comfortable. Raise the volume, & keep your eyes primarily on the lure, not the fish. It's just wallowing there so always prepare (don't rush) when you're about to reel in a shark or a snakehead! Good luck!

I think if you stare at the bobber,you'll get a bit excited when you see it go down,that you might have a moment of happiness and not realize you caught it.Like Mint said,listen to the plop.I caught 2 so far.Probably just be,but they appear more often at night time.Good luck.

Oh man, at first I couldn't catch any, I thought I just couldn't catch them because I needed a better rod. But I kept trying to catch one, and I finally got a whale shark!

So yeah it's really hard, like everyone else says, make sure you listen to the bobber. It makes it just a bit easier. Good luck!

I suggest turning off your 3-d and going back to 2-d because you can stare at it more precisely and in case your screen tilts. It also helps if you practice a lot in the rivers and stuff.

I have seen 6, had the opportunity to catch 4 (Had a fishing rod) and have caught 3. 2 regular sharks and a hammerhead shark. caught them just fine lol

I've caught a good few; but I have an itchy trigger finger so to speak and I sometimes hit it much too early. Though I noticed some sharks are a LOT quicker than others; I just got lucky a few times. I go by audio cues myself.

I either close my eyes or look off screen and just listen for the sound when trying for sharks. Hasn't failed yet xD. Using headphones helps also.

Looking away from the screen or closing your eyes and listening is the best way.
