Am I the only one who has been struggling to bond with certain Dreamies?
Some villagers I get along with great. Marshal is as sweet as can be, and I like Tia and Bruce way more than I thought I would.
Some villagers have been hard to bond with, though. Poppy and Stitches are almost always on Main Street, and it's like I never see them. I love them both and want to get along with them, but it's been kind of weird so far.

Please share your stories of how you struggled (or maybe succeeded) in bonding with your Dreamies. :D

If it's just a matter of not finding them in the main area of your town, you can save and quit. When you reload, they should be in a different location, and if not, try again. You can also time travel one hour ahead and that should change their location. :)

I don't exactly have dreamies but I've had similar things happen to me with a couple of villagers that I really wanted, mainly because they plotted their houses so far away from everything that I forget to talk to them when I'm just running errands. Some personalities, like Peppies, have really annoying dialogue before you reach a higher friendship level with them (in my opinion) so there are some villagers that take me more motivation to talk to them a lot.

My people are always in town, for the most part, and I usually jst break into their houses if their inside

If some of the dreamies you have are on main street, just wait an hour or two then check back on your town. They will be there after a bit. I do understand, sometimes, some of my dreamies wander and I can never find them lol The best way to definitely bond with a certain dreamie (or dreamies) is to send them letters with a gift, or do them favors :3 I constantly do that and they are like buddy buddy with me.

The one dreamie I wanted for a long time was Marshal. Believe it or not, once I had started a new game out of sheer boredom and lack of love for my current town, he was actually the first to move in lol I got super lucky and wanted him to be my best bud. The first thing I did was talk to him a lot, but not to the point it was irritating him. I send him letters constantly with gifts and do his favors successfully. After a while of repetitively doing the following, he started to then little by little, give me free gifts, ask to come over and then often coming over by himself to my house daily when I was inside. Personally it's all about the patience and dedication you put into that villager. I wish you luck when bonding :)

I've never had trouble bonding with villagers unless I just never talked to them because I wanted them to move out. Which I did on my second town with Cesar and Boone. (I don't like gorillas..) But I can typically bond pretty easily. I like talking to all the villagers on a regular basis. I never really cared for Julian until I had him in my cycling town and he stayed for a long time. I really like smugs though. I think dialog gets me. When they say things about being your best friend I'm just like "Aww!" I think it's adorable. >< Ultimately I don't think it's something you can force, you just have to let it happen naturally through playing the game like normal. Do favors, go to birthdays, send letters, just talk to your villagers. That's how I got so many PWP pings on my main without really trying. I just played the game.

Also if you're having issues with the villagers not being around town, save quit and log back in, it shuffles which villagers are outside/in the shops/in their house, etc.

Yeah, this has happened to me several times.I've brought in villagers that I've really wanted in my town and things just don't click(I also had a Poppy that didn't work out). But one of the intangibles in this game is that you can have a completely new experience with a different version of the same villager.I've given away my first Curly,Ozzie and Peanut because they were all somewhat disappointing then reacquired them later and the difference was like night and day. Those three are now among my favorite villagers.

This is such an interesting thing to me. I've had this happen as well. I thought it was just my imagination, but there's a post somewhere around here that explains how different ''versions'' of villagers can come about... time to go digging through the archives to find it I guess :p

I've definitely had this problem, in the past and currently. *sigh*

When I first got Julian to move into my town, I could never find him, and wasn't crazy about his personality. It took a while for him to start asking for errands or favors, and start having more friendly, personal dialogue. I remember totally falling in love with him when he gave me my first bamboo shoot, and after that we've totally bonded.

However, I'm currently feeling the dreamie struggle with Zucker. I was a little annoyed when he first moved in because I forgot to plot reset and he moved in right in the middle of a path. Now I'm in the stage of feeling a bit ambiguous towards him, because we haven't really bonded or anything. Ehh, well I'll see how it goes, and if I end up not caring for him then I'll just trade him for someone else.

Julian always did that to me.... and now he's gone... more of a fact is how they fit into my town, Molly will probably be on her wait out next

I've kinda noticed the 2 dreamies I've gotten from trades (Freya + Diana) have used the same repetitive spiel about sending letters but I'm hoping it's just a coincidence. I haven't seen Freya do it in a while.

IsNT that always the way? You pay a few thousand tbt or million in-game bells and they end up hating the player

I'm really close with Zell. Then there's Deirdre who lives the closest to me yet I hardly talk to her. I try to but I just rarely see her. Mitzi is another one and I love her so much she was my favourite in wild world but she's never really around.

I'm still not really sure if my friendship is maxed with a few of my dreamies, it's kind of hard to tell. At least Marina's really straightforward about it, she's given me 3 copies of her pic so far. Meanwhile a villager I dislike and want gone keeps popping into my house unannounced despite efforts to lower my friendship with him.

Sometimes the search is sweeter then the actual getting them, if you know what I mean. I searched for Pekoe since city folk. Never found her. Then I tried during new leaf and it tooks months. Finally got her only to realize, i am not that into her! It was so weird. I never bonded with her, then eventually did a giveaway and the person who got her was so happy. Sometimes, it just happens for whatever reason.
