Tropical town ideas!

I've been struggling with making my town into a tropical themed town. I feel like no matter what I do, the theme isn't even obvious. You can't even tell what I am aiming for. Do you guys have any ideas? PWP placement ideas? Path ideas? etc

I was thinking about removing a lot of my trees and replacing them with palm trees and tropical fruit trees.

Lots of Hibiscus. Lots of Hibiscus. Make it look like Hawaii. Buy stuff from the island. Lot's of palm trees. Idk, I really like Hawaiian themed towns so maybe I could brainstorm some good ideas later. I'm just so tired right now. XD

Cedar trees will all have to go. I don't know any tropical environment that has those. Non tropical here and there is OK.

Fruit from the island is also good too. Durian, Lemon, Lychee, and other stuff. For PWP's maybe zen themed train station or town hall. The rest maybe Hammocks, maybe the metal bench, picnic basket is good, suspension bridge, flower clock, drinking fountain, fountain, instrument shelter, zen streetlight, streetlight, water well, flower arch, hot spring, all the topiaries, water pump, wisteria trellis, zen garden,, geyser, moai statue, and thats all i can think of. Just some ideas. Are you also going to make the houses tropical themed too?

Good idea! Luckily my house is already decked out in the cabana exterior and interior so that is one less thing I have to do.

Have a lot of palm trees and Hibiscus bushes, and maybe decorate your house like a tropical beach. Eventually, it'll start to get better!

I'm also making a tropical town.

I used lots of the island fruit and island bushes.

Used lots of red, orange, and yellow flowers.

If you want to know what I did with my houses...one is a tropical resort/hotel. With a tropical looking sign beside it saying the name of the hotel. And it has tropical fruit and a fountain outside.

The town is still new. I'm going to make one house a tropical house (haven't started) and not sure about the 3rd house....

My town is kind of tropical around my beach and yeah I have tons of hibiscus bushes and for whatever reason I think tulips look tropical. Don't ask me why but red, yellow and orange tulips just look that way to me. You can visit my DA if you would like I just updated it. My beaches are kind of just holding crap right now while I'm still designing, but it all depends. Just cause I feel it's more tropically than the one I have already cause the tropical aspect of my town just kind of happened recently I was originally going for more of a fairy tale look.

you can make your house and any other players house as cute little tiki homes! Something Ive been trying to do with one of mine but the tiki stuff doesnt appear often. haha. I've also found that the lilly's make cute tropical looking flowers and Planted them all along the cliffs a that over hang the beach and against the cliff walls on the beach. <3 it looks so awesome! And not sure what kind of fruit trees for in town, maybe mangos? or oranges? or lemons? I always liked the idea of citrus fruit for a tropical town. Maybe because you can make yummy lemonade with them. <3 And maybe some cute wooden bridges?

Throw 20 palm-tree lamps in every room of every character house. That should do it.

Avoid the modern projects, as well as the fairy tale. If it's something like the video screen or the drilling rig or looks like it's not natural, don't put it in.

lots of Tiki PWPs haha. I'd also cover your town in patterns, the natural grass of AC doesn't really fit the tropics. Make it bright!!
