Trees and bushes just won't grow!

Several times, I've tried to plant trees or bushes in places and they won't grow in these spots! These places are random, and there doesn't seem to be a problem with the location. So why won't they grow in these spots?

Some areas trees and bushes just won't grow unfortunately.

Yeah this happens with me between two bushes in a line of trees I planted, one bush just won't grow out of the line in each one and it bothers me, but oh well.

In some spaces of your town, there will be "dead spot" where plants won't grow, no matter what you do. Unfortunately, these spots are randomized for each town. Also, just to let you know, if you're working with cedars, those will only grow on the north side of your town.

I thought dead spots weren't meant to be a thing in this game? There are a few rules I know of:

• Trees/bushes must be at least one space away from PWPs, buildings, etc.
• No more than 12 trees or bushes can be in a row, even if they are diagonal to each other. This is to prevent villagers and the likes from getting trapped.
• There may be a limit to how many trees and such can be in one area. I know that previous games had a limit on how many trees could be growing per acre.

Cedar trees only grow up north. If you're planting them toward the bottom of your map, they'll always die.

I think it's the dead zone thing. Oh well, I guess I'll have to plant around it.
And I didn't know about the line of trees and bushes rule. I'll have to keep that in mind.

I've had this problem too while trying to grow a line of bushes and trees, it really bothers me sometimes but whatever Good luck!

I think the dead spots are a myth, you can't have more than 12 bushes in a row, trees have to be 1 away from everything, there are some rules like that, check that you follow these rules when you plant things.

I'm thinking then it's either from dead spots of having 12 plants in a row, because the places I want them to grow seem normal.
