tree lost leaves

When I shook a tree to get some perfect pears, All the leaves dropped off. what does this mean, is the tree ok?

The tree is dead. You can chop it down and then plant one of those perfect pears in that spot. You can only shake a perfect fruit tree so many times before it dies.

This. Additionally, one rotten fruit will always drop from a tree that has died. Throw it away; make sure not to give it to your poor villagers :'( I've made that mistake!

or you could just leave it out, let ants gather, catch the ants, and donate it to the museum (if you haven't already). you can just sell it/throw it away after.

Oh my gosh, I have given rotten fruit to villagers before accidentally! I felt so incredibly awful!
