Hi! i recently started using the re-tail part of this website to trade with other players and I have traded a few times and such, but I was wondering if there was some sort of unspoken rules about trading that I might want to know? Every time I end the multiplayer session after a trade I always feel like im being rude and going too fast or something so I just was wondering if anyone could tell me? Thanks :D

Don't run in people's towns or explore without permission is a big one. End the session isn't rude, but at least say thank you and goodbye.

oh man I would never run in someones town, I would hate that if it was my town! And I do say thank you and goodbye, its only polite :) Thank you so much :D

Just be courteous, stick together, and be sure that the trade is handled professionally.
If you're buying with IGB or TBT, check when the other person wants you to pay. And if you're selling don't be afraid to say when you want to receive payment. (A safe assumption is halfway through the trade on large orders)

It's hard to mess up a trade unless you're messing it up intentionally. You'll be fine, no worries ~

These are all really good points. Im so nervous to trade because I dont want to accidentally offend anyone :/ Thank you for your help :D

yep, basically what everyone posted above ^^ just be polite and trade/pay as what's agreed and you'll be fineeee :D and it would also be nice to leave Wi-fi feedback after a trade eheh

goodluck with your trading!

basically what everyone said above! be polite, and i would say don't make assumptions.. b/c sometimes assumptions lead to big misunderstandings which can lead to bad ratings and reports!! so the most important thing to do is ask if you don't understand when to pay or anything really. i promise people won't mind extra caution :)

good luck!!!

Always check the persons Wi-Fi rating, if it's low ask for payment up front, if it's a bit the mid trade is fine and if it's high then you should be safe allowing them to pay at the end. Also always leave a rating!

As for the other stuff, the normal things, no running, no picking anything up without asking, don't leave the area with asking, it's better to have way too much words than too few. Personally I don't like it when they end the session because I like to take the train, bit if they do it I don't see it in a bad way.

If I'm going to the other person's town, I just show up and say hi, drop payment/items (depends on if I'm buying, selling, or bartering), say thank you and leave.
I hate when people drag out trades will small talk, because that's not what I'm there for! So don't worry about being brusk; just use your manners.
Also, don't leave the train station area (the stone around the train station) unless you are asked to follow the host. And if you're going to be the host, at least be courteous enough to be there when the person you're trading with arrives. Then, just drop what needs to be dropped, thank the person, and end the party. I normally through a few waves or happy faces in there with the joke book to make myself seem welcoming because I don't like leaving a trade feeling like the person was mad at me.

If you're buying something with in game bells or TBT bells, the person coming in to drop your items off likely has more orders to do & is going to want to be over and done with the trade as quickly as possible! Welcoming them when they first get into your town, saying thank you when they get done dropping the items, and saying goodbye before ending the session is perfectly okay!

I don't sell items in my town or in others. I just buy from other people.
So I say Hi when arriving or when they arrive. Do the trade and offer them a basket of perfect fruit.
If it's someone town and I'm buying than I ask if everything is good once they check the bells.
In my town once they pick up the items I ask if I should end the session. Wait for okay, say Bye and end the session.
